Good stuff leading up to V3 launch

Watched this the other day. It's fantastic.

Watched it last night, it was awesome! It's fun watching people who absolutely LOVE what they do explain what they're doing- especially such amazing feats.

Looks like they need a place to land the booster rocket that launches from South Texas across the gulf…. Maybe Pecan Island, LA?

I'm reading Reentry right now.
The tempo of SpaceX stuff over the next 18 months has to be absolutely insane if we're going to stay anywhere close to on schedule for Artemis.

schedule for Artemis.
I think Artemis as we know it is over, Isaacman is going to run it different. At least with SLS, I can see them pivot to Starship totally if it gets going to get them to lunar orbit. Who knows if the lander will be SpaceX or Blue Origin at this point, both will probably land. Landing by 2028 will be tight, but by end of decade is doable. Especially if flight 12 goes well for Starship soon.

I definitely think there is a chance Isaacman just moves entirely to Starship if the schedule drags. I'm not a student of the programs, but the op tempo and amount of stuff SpaceX is going to have to show for the lunar landing anyway (multiple launches, first of its kind refueling, Starship HLS, etc.) is going to make it harder to justify hanging on to SLS, at least in my mind.

Kubrick didn’t have AI to use

so they've yet to actually get the booster through a successful fire. When we're they planning on actually launching?

They may not and just light the candle. It sounded like the engines were fine it was the pad that tossed the pressure sensor alert. They are testing new engines, booster and launch pad all at the same time. Basically this is a re-do of IFT-1.
The fact they went ahead and put this video out, says next time booster 12 is at the tower, Ship is going to be on top

There are so many incorrect assumptions made in that article that I don’t know where to begin. I won’t try to address them all, but what he says about launch corridors having to go due east only, SpaceX buying 136,000 acres for just a manufacturing facility (a facility that they don’t even need considering they already have manufacturing facilities at Boca and the Cape), that Starship will land on drone ships, etc. are all very wrong. Also, SpaceX has launched many rockets out of the Cape that either went South-East, or virtually due south (on both StarLink launches and sun synchronous orbit trajectories).
If SpaceX really did buy 136,000 acres, this is not just a manufacturing facility. It is likely a launch and landing facility, and far less likely would be just a landing facility. In either case, it may or may not include a manufacturing faculty (I’m not speculating on that, but it would be awesome if the do also build a manufacturing facility). But if they bought 136,000 acres, there is zero chance it is only a manufacturing facility (they also don’t need another engine test facility since they already have McGregor, so it’s not just manufacturing and testing either IF they really did buy 136,000 acres).
You don’t need anywhere near 136,000 acres if it’s just a manufacturing facility. You would want that much land if it is a launch and/or landing facility, but not if it’s just a manufacturing facility.

Wow!
Just amazing to see what human potential looks like.

What a dumb perspective. You must be a politician.
West to East launches are more efficient by leveraging the Earth's rotation to the tune of 1000MPH saving fuel and money. The polar orbits you mention were for orbital satellites. Starship rockets are interplanetary.
The linked article specifically mentions the Inter coastal waterway. That corridor is a resource rich conduit for labor, materials, and transportation situated in the median of existing SpaceX facilities.
Louisiana politicians are the lowest hanging fruit of the red-tape world we live in making that area prime for harvest.
Louisiana is industry friendly and has World class cities such as New Orleans and Houston within reach to spend executive-class money in.
SpaceX want's to launch 100s of Starships when the Earth to Mars orbits are ideal. It will require space and resources on a global scale.

Where the hell does Elon Musk get the cash flow to pay for all this- salaries, infrastructure, etc.

“you can’t be serious”
I am serious.
Is he making that much money from Tesla and Starlink?
Watching, that video it boggled my mind the amount of money being spent building all that, has to be many billions..
Then the employees he has don’t come cheap.
I guess my pea brain can’t process how all that works out.
