When he was celebrating, after pointing to Sweden on his shirt, did he tell someone "frick you"?
I'm not sure what I saw there.

Yeah I thought so too. Didn't like that to much.
There's a fine line there.

What did USOC do to him? I just thought he decided to go Sweden cause he liked it as a kid, did we do something to him?

I've watched it several times, I can't tell at all what he's saying.

As I understand it, the USOC wouldn't let his dad coach him (only started coaching Mondo since he was 3) and were being very bureaucratic...
Sweden let Greg coach his son and paid him to do so...also as the world champion, Mondo went straight on their team and didn't have to go through tryouts (remember Dan O'Brien)

Bubka was a great athlete. He was a world class triple jumper as well.

If you look in the background as Mondo clears the bar, Sam Kendricks was jumping up and down cheering.

Great! The Louisiana born and raised boy essentially erases the Gold Medal that China earned earlier today on Parallel Bars and keeps Team USA tied at the top of that category.

But it doesn't, and we are still behind them by 1 gold...

The sportsmanship shown between the medalists and the Australian vaulter was what the Olympics is supposed to be at their best!

I've changed my opinion after his US comments. I was happy he set that record but if those comments are confirrned, he can frick right off in hell.
He's the perfect example of what was the hot discussion on here last week. His only tie with Sweden is that his mother was born there. He grew up in the US, benefited from Lafayette schools, benefited from our college athletics, and thought he was too good to go through the Trials. I am disgusted that his US born dad even put competing for another country into his head. He can take the early ticket to hell. All three of them should lose their US citizenship next January 20th.
If you want to simp for him, at least be honest with yourself. If he and Kendricks had switched where they went to college, you wouldn't be defending him so much.

I haven't seen anywhere that Mondo badmouthed the US after he won. He was standing for the national anthem with his hand over his heart while the 100m guys got their medals.
