LSU has a department for World Languages, lets see if the curriculum is worth something by poaching some GA’s

A lot of strong finishes in that video, usually while drawing significant contact from an opposing big.

I love what Wade is doing here. Building a team of guys that have actually played professional basketball overseas, that have played against grown men, and all guys who want to show off in the US for the NBA...

Really smart stuff so far. International players have long been able to come over, but its kind of poking at the new era of college basketball a bit and I love it

He was in Germany last season so probably pretty fluent in English.

I want some dessert.

Hell yeah. This team will be nasty if it all falls into place.

Another factor is that it is pretty commonplace in international professional basketball for guys to just play on one year contracts and change teams quite a bit. That means they are used to having to join a new team and adapt/adjust quickly for one season. That's essentially what college basketball is today.

As a longtime college basketball fan I don't necessarily love what college basketball has become. But it is reality. So you either adapt or get left behind (a certain former coach constantly tired to build a program like it was 2018...the results spoke for themselves). If the college players are going to essentially be "pros" anyway, then why not see if you can get and have success with actual pros?

I'm excited we got someone and I admittedly don't know a thing about him but I laughed a little when the release said he can really score and then below that it shows he's averaging a little over 6 points a game.

He was playing professional ball at the second highest level in the world, hopefully that translates to 10+ points a game here

Nice get. Like Wade’s philosophy here.

“Yeah, but has he signed?!?!?”

I know that was the theme from some of our “fans” yesterday.

This guy will be turning 24 during the season (in November)

Getting pretty funny having the grown men we'll have on the team next season

Hard ot get a real grasp on all these foreign players and how they'll fit in here (until we know the full team) but my guess is this guy is a bench player for us. Averaged about 7 points in 14 minutes a game in euroleague (which is very solid) and just 1.6 boards a game, 0.3 blocks and 3.2 fouls (thats a lot for 14 minutes). Pretty weak "big man" (boards/blocks) stats for a 6'9 250 pounder so seems more like a 10-15 minute a game bench rotation big here.

I liked his tape,

like others said though he'll probably have issues with fouling but if he is rotating out with Mo D it'll probably work out.

6.9 is a little over 6? And it's in only 14 minutes/game. I'm laughing too, at you.

I did laugh at that, but it shows the huge difference in Euroball and its a common misconception.

These younger guys are treated VERY differently over there. They do not get to play nearly as much, no matter how talented they are, because teams believe they are just going to leave for the NBA or elsewhere. So they play the older vets that aren't going anywhere that aren't as talented a lot more
