Florida hosted some soccer in 1996.

In 2028, they decided to actually put softball in Oklahoma City

Although it would be cool if Hawaii hosted 2028 events since surfing was basically born there, San Diego to LA and the Lower Trestles some of the best continental coastal surf in the world.

I also read that the Olympics could add more during events such as longboard and others, so maybe multiple beaches and venues would be needed.

Apparently they don't have to decide on LA venues until 2025. I bet the big wave events could be in Hawaii and the smaller stuff in LA/So Cal area.

You still have Maverick Beach for big wave surfing in California. There's also Cortes Bank that's about a 100 miles off the coast of San Diego. Just park a cruise ship there. Summer is the worst season for big wave surfing though.

Pretty sure there was some white water stuff in the Nantahala Gorge, in North Carolina. Could be mistaken.
