The draw to LSU was made possible by Saban who saw the talent rich state with a single major university that all these kids wanted to play for.

Now this will remain true for freshman recruits and I think you can still lock up much of the instate recruits, but not like it used to. The NIL weakens that draw now. So what Saban, Miles, Ogeron were able to do with in-state recruiting will be diminished. It is all about money and if you can hang on to guys.
The only thing that bothers me is that our OL guys are going to other SEC schools. While we are replacing them with JUCO and small school OL guys so far that aren't very big and don't look strong upper body wise. This is where my concern is and I don't like that we let our OL guys go to other SEC schools. I think it was coaching that failed them.
There is always controversy in any game. This one had it's own as well. OM had a targeting call reversed. Miami had their upheld which I think was a lame. You are replaying it in slo-mo, the runner was falling down and as the defender came into hit him. Bad call IMO.

So that broke for OM favor. You could argue the PI at the end but it wasn't anything crazy. 2 guys fighting for position. They aren't going to call that on a hail mary. Miami had chances to ice this game with missed Int's.

You have to think Lane is kicking himself. Natty games are not guarateed. But this will make hungtier i think

I like it.
This is my favorite though.

The Chambliss pickup by Lane was phenomenal. I'm not sure what it was that he liked. Of course the physical aspects has to be there to make throws and scramble, but he is spotting mental capacity, pre/post snap reads and the quickness of his decision making.
Chambliss was a nobody coming out of highschool.
F35s can act as an AWACS itself. It is able to relay target and threat data to ships and other aircraft. That is one of the more important abilities of the f35.
The team played solid. Although not handling the press was embarrassing. But in the end it was players making dumb mistakes at the end and not coaching.

Why did Nwoko back off Agee under the basket and not contest his layup. It was really weird how he turned him loose under the goal. Then Reece lob at the end was terrible. Those 2 plays really hurt and that was just bone headed decisions by players.

Thonly coaching fault i saw was breaking the press.
I'm kind of leaning that there were factions in the Venzuela military that were in on this, but your intel had to be spot on in order for the word not to get out. Or the military saw what was happening and let it go on without much fight. i suspect a whole lot in the military do not like Maduro if most the country was celebrating his ouster.

Nothing prolonged. we would have supply chain issues in parts supply, weapon replenishment, spares, etc.
China has numbers, but if it was a short entanglement we would have the advantage. If it's prolonged we begin to lose advantage.

Not to mention we are unprepared for the simplistic drone attacks as Russia was in Ukraine. We are working on it and understand the potential of those types of attacks, but we are unprepared for them i believe.

ETA:
Also, this was Venezuela. It was impressive, but it is Venezuela. We weren't facing top notch weaponry that Russia has faced in Ukraine.
Most on this board have been griping about how the media is going after Lane. Yet that has no influence on players or parents making decisions?
You're an idiot if you think that doesn't influence anything.
Look I'm fine with Lane and can't wait to see what he can do here, but I'm just acknowledging that maybe the media is influencing players to not stay at LSU.
I'm surprised at all the transfers, especially from guys that would've been starters and are local kids. We need to keep this local talent and keep the line of in-state kids coming to LSU.
I think the negative press and is impacting some of this around Kiffin as well.
I can't blame him. TT has money, the conference is weak and he can more easily pad his stats. They will probably be in the CFP next season as well, something less likely at LSU. Plus seeing all the players hitting the portal at LSU could scare guys off.
I wish we could've gotten him. I'd trust him over Leavitt. I don't want to roll the dice on Leavitt.
We are losing some good players from the team to the portal and missed out on QB to Tech. I know it's early, but is the neg press that Lane is getting and how they are labeling him, is this influencing players?

This CFP is going to help OM tremendously in the portal. If they can keep a flow of solid players they will be difficult if they get a good OC.
On that note, we are sure that Weiss Jr is locked down?

Have the stars aligned for this kid or what?
A nobody as a recruit, a nobody as a transfer, Lane gets him to come to OM, and the starter gets hurt.
going from D2 to playing in the CFP within 9mnths. Just crazy. If he has the arm strength for the NFL, he will go pro.
There is no way in hell WW is coming to LSU. That's hilarious. He has a solid team at NC State. I'm mixed on LSU's position on this. I understand that they were trying to keep LSU from getting the hammer dropped by the NCAA so they told WW to move on. As a coach I liked him and wished they had called the NCAA bluff.
