Lazy isnt the word for it. Defensive players are being restricted in how they tackle.

If you put your hands behind your back and try to tackle someone, you will probably increase the chance of getting a shoulder injury. If you say you cant tackle with your shoulder, youll try to tackle with your legs, leading to more leg injuries. And so on.

Its a dumb fricking rule.

Go back to the rules of the 80s. Make the first paragraph of the CBA:

"These are the rules. If you want the money, the pussy, the fame, the pussy, the recognition, the pussy, and the money; sign here."

So you have to square up on Derrick Henry from head on?

Good luck.

Rob Gronkowskui should come out of retirement, because it's now going to be impossible to tackle him.

Lol, just rename it Flag Football League and be done with it. Between this crap and the asinine decisions of Saints management, I'm done.

The diagram attached looks like they're literally banning form tackles. I played football in 2010 and this was considered a perfect tackling form

NFL referees are going to get more useless camera time than the Kardashians.

This rule is something else for the refs to call at particular points in games. It’s so wide open to interpretation that there will little to no consistency in how it’s applied.

And explain how or WHY a 190 lb DB is going to tackle Derek Henry or Metcalf or Kelsey or Barkley. If you are in open field and giving up 50lbs what the hell do you do?

They say it’s for player safety but half league still uses turf and they are trying to go to 18 games.

The NFL has banned the hip-drop tackle, source said. The Competition Committee was unanimous on it.

Hopefully next year they will give everyone a red flag to wear.

Won't this encourage defenders to go at guys knees and result in knees getting blown out?

To say defensive players are mad about this is an understatement

Coincidence that Aaron Donald retired?

(Now granted he was a DL and probably not tackling like that often)

Yeah so if you are a DB behind a TE now I guess you just dive into the back of his legs to take him out since that's your only shot
