It should be. It's a completely lazy tackle that can, and has, seriously injured players. This kind of tackle form wasn't all that commonplace 15-20 years

It's just a tackle and the hip drop rule is going to be way too subjective.

What has changed in the last 15-20 years that caused this change in tackle form, I wonder?

Can’t hit high. Can’t hit low. Can’t wrap up unless it’s from directly in front of the ball carrier.

This is going to be interesting.

I really just wish the defenses would just go on strike and really just stand there. They should just watch them run 75 yards for a touchdown on every play. They want offense give it to them!

My prediction still stands. They’ll be wearing flags within a decade

I think this will actually be the “bridge too far” moment for the NFL. WE will see

The NFL sucks now. Can't go high because it might cause a head injury, also can't go low because it might cause a lower body injury.

I fricking hate this shite. Just get rid of the lineman and play flag.
Can't go high can't go low can't wrap up
But the RB can drop his shoulder ad helmet into you and the defender gets a penalty or trucked.
They will not stop.
They make millions of dollars if they play 10 years or 3 it should be enough to live off of responsibly.
The ability to get injured is a factor into why they get such a salary

When do they go to two-hand flag?

What's preventing offensive players from dropping dead weight when they get grabbed from behind to make it look like they're being hip dropped?

Seems like enforcing this would be a nightmare.

So if you aren’t in position to make a perfect tackle that you are happy with then you should just give up on the play?

I’d love to see how a CB is supposed to tackle a TE at this point.

This is what gets me. They were literally encouraging and teaching this method to younger players because they said it reduces injuries.
