There are only two ways Paul has any kind of chance.

The only way the regular season gets devalued w/an expanded playoff is if the TV networks, SEC, and Big 10 get their way turning it into a pure invitational w/zero auto bids for conference winners.
If you want the regular season to mean more you have to give every conference winner an auto bid. Tough shite if that means a mediocre team can get in. Join a different conference if it's too unfair to play so many big bad SEC/Big 10 teams.
The "best teams" arbitrarily picked by a committee that has zero constancy in how it evaluates teams bullshite is what hurts the regular season more than anything.

UFL is not doing well. They've eliminated GMs and now the HC also has to fill that roll. I'm guessing Stoops didn't want to have to do all that stuff. Pretty sure the league is losing Skip Holtz as a coach too. Probably for similar reasons.
