cash would be sitting in a savings account.

I guess I could put it in a Monte Carlo simulator.

Spit balling I’d guess 7-10% return on the insurance money would support a 5% draw.

I’ll run the numbers.

I know others here are probably getting 30-50 % annual returns, but I don’t think a widow with kids can take on that much risk- even if it’s the rock solid picks of the money board.

Here’s a Monte Carlo with 80% stocks, 10% treasuries, 10 % REITs

It has a high probability of being enough money to withdraw $100,000 per year for 20 years- and probably more.

Hopefully, to pay premiums and live a long life.

Do you know how investing works?

Yes.

I also know how wives and kids work.

$2,000,000 is not never work again money.

I’m mostly retired at 61.
I “work” about 10 hours a week.
I don’t have little kids.

I just don’t know what all the costs are now with college and some people prefer private school.

Life always seems more expensive now that ever.

And I certainly have learned about the magic of compound interest. Time in the market has been better than timing the market in my experience.

The best investments I have, I have held the longest.
In the old days 1970-1990 or so, this season would have ended with:

Rose Bowl: Indiana versus Oregon

Cotton Bowl: Texas A&M(or Texas) versus Ole Miss

Sugar: Georgia versus Ohio State

Orange: Oklahoma versus Miami

Fiesta: Alabama versus Texas

AP and Coaches would vote.

Things were fine.
BCS was a step forward.
4 team playoff was a refinement.
12 team playoff is a stretch.

I know they will grow it to 16 or 24, but I don’t think it will lead to a slate of competitive games.

I’d cut the playoff to 6, give 1 and 2 seed a bye, have it all finished on New Years Day.

Will schools shift the academic calendar to make “portaling” easier?

Way back when, some schools had a short “January term” which lasted just a few weeks, then the semester started later.

The quarter system might be better for portal enrollment. We were on quarters at Auburn when I was there as a student. Tennessee and Georgia were on quarter system back then as well.
The difference between his NIL and a top 5 draft pick contract?
When the did “Chaz” , I recall some video where they were discussing shortage of condoms.

I wonder if I can link that video.

Hugh could get a round in every morning, then head over to the HS and teach the team all 3 of his plays.

Enterprise Country Club has a nice course.

I guess he could also join in Dothan.

2M policy would result in my wife never working again unless she dramatically changed her lifestyle.

She must be very sensible an frugal.

Walk me through the math.

2 million is enough for a wife and 3 little kids to get everyone launched?

2,000,000 divided by 20 is $100,000 per year.
I guess you’d have some return on unspent money, but she must be some kind of frugal.

I guess some fraction of the lump sum would double twice over 20 years so a 5% drawdown with normal market returns would give you more than 20 years. So let’s best case scenario that the unspent money makes 10%, but there could be dramatic declines any given year.

College?
Cars?
Weddings?

I’d put it in a Monte Carlo simulator as far as how to invest the insurance money.

For me, I lived away. Family came and kids slept in sleeping bags and we figured things out. After awhile, we just booked hotel rooms for extended family. Maybe your family comes more frequently so it may be an entirely different calculation for you.

No worries.

A guest room is great, but I would not let that decide whether I’d want a certain house.
I did not like the way Beck carried the football on the TD run.

It could have hit his thigh and dislodged.

I know it did not happen, but I think the ball should be protected at all times properly.

The kids can double up for a couple of nights.

Is 1 or 2 million enough?

I don’t know, just asking.

Why did they not take him straight to the locker room and start working on it.

Did he completely tear it?

If not, ice, tape, lidocaine shot(ala Delma Huddle).

Why would TV want Oregon over the Indiana/Cignetti story?

Nike

West Coast .

Gives them an east-west matchup.

TV wants Miami for east coast eyeballs.

Look for Oregon to get some busboy calls tomorrow.

Then you have Miami versus Oregon.

C’mon Rebels!

Beat the ‘canes, the refs, and the TV assholes!!
