LSU basketball coach Will Wade landed a major commitment on Thursday as five-star point guard Reese Alston announced his pledge to the Tigers.

Alston, a 6-foot-3 prospect from Second Baptist School in Houston, Texas, chose LSU over Kentucky, Louisville, Tennessee, and Wichita State.

The talented guard is rated as the No. 9 overall prospect and No. 3 point guard in the country for the 2027 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Alston averaged 22.2 points, 5.3 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.7 steals per game during his junior season.

He is also the son of former NBA point guard Rafer Alston, who played 11 seasons in the league.

Alston's commitment is another major recruiting victory for Wade, who continues to build LSU's future with elite talent.
