At some point, if you say to a friend It's time we go and that friend refuses to go, they have the right to make that choice. I think that is consistent with the bro code regardless of the color of your skin. To let a bro to keep trying to get laid

Tbh I don't know what type of bro code that is. Im not leaving my bro somewhere just because he's talking to a girl. Either I'll wait a lil for him to do his thing. Or I'll tell him to get her number because we're leaving. If we do leave him, I'm going to make sure he's got his phone in order to make sure he's ok and has a ride back.

But no, I'm not going to leave a friend behind with no ride with a random girl he just met. That's not cock blocking, that is being a good friend. Regardless of skin tone

I posted in this thread, but didn't actually post anything regarding the actual main topic.

While I can certainly understand the skepticism regarding his friends. I refuse to accuse someone of murder without actual proof. That's just a step too far that some people have no issues doing apparently.

What I will say is, from what I've seen regarding the case. Those boys were not his friends. I don't mean this in the sense that they did something sinister, but rather , they just didn't care that much. How do you all go somewhere together, but then y'all have non-issue leaving someone behind, without having 100% certainty that said person will have a ride back. Not to mention, the young man's phone was allegedly left on the boat. So he wouldn't have even had a way of contacting anyone. You just don't do that.

Terrible friends. Not criminal activity however.
Well, the original person I responded to was speaking of American slavery.
quote:

Wealthy immigrants from Asia and the Middle East often bring over a nanny or house cleaner who is enslaved. All across America, there are massage parlors run by Chinese criminal organizations that have imported people in shipping containers; are they not slaves?

You could make that argument. Even then, what you are describing is totally and completely different. For example, if said "slave" is to run away, they could find a homeless shelter, soup kitchen for food. Heck, they could potentially go to the police and turn in their captors. American slaves did not have any of those options. I would say what you described as more human trafficking.

In any case, human atrocities most certainly exist across the board that does exist across every race and ethnicity. But if we are discussing American slavery, that most is a black v white issue.
quote:

The relevance is the juxtaposition of white vilification with the fact that tens of thousands of whites suffered and died to end it in this country.

And tens of thousands suffered and died to keep it going as long as possible in this country.

All white people are not evil. But evil white people most certainly are.
quote:

If the slaves were never captured and enslaved in the first place, slavery ( the Western version) never would have started. Hell, the British had the Irish already

I don't really agree with this take. Yes, there was slavery in western Africa. Yes, Africans would sell other Africans to the white slavers. But your assertion ignores the fact that the white slavers didn't simply retrieve other slaves. They also did a lot of rampaging random villages to gather up as many potential slaves as possible. A lot of free Africans were transported against their will to the Americas in order to become slaves.
quote:

You do realize free people of color owned slaves, right

This didn't answer my question at all.

But again, white people were the controlling class. Black people were not. The rights granted by the constitution did not include black people at all. We were not able to be considered citizens until after the abolishment of slavery. Finding a few random instances of a black person owning slaves does not dispute that they themselves were not apart of the controlling class still.
quote:

only the power to capture and sell their fellow Africans

That's a deflection that did not answer my question.
quote:

Google the last country on earth that ended slavery and what year. Then comeback and post it. But you won’t because it ends your narrative dumbass.

That's not relevant? How can the enslaved free themselves of being enslaved?

Also, what's my narrative exactly?
quote:

Also, black people didn’t end slavery. White Americans did.

How could black people end slavery, when we were the ones who were enslaved. We didn't have the power to end slavery.
Soccer is a weird sport. We are only down 1, but it feels more like we're getting our arse kicked.
Just going by the full video alone. More than likely this is definitely going to trial in my opinion. That being said, I don't see a murder conviction happening. But I wouldn't be surprised if a lesser charge stuck.

The guy was aggressively approaching a woman with a gun pointed at him. That is a man who obviously doesn't care anything about his life. I can very easily see her being in fear for her life at that moment.

That being said, she did step out of her vehicle in the situation with the gun already pulled. I'm honestly not sure of the legality of that. One could argue that she was an equal participant as far as escalation goes.

Witness testimony as to what the 2 of them were saying to each other will probably be very important I'd imagine.
Cape Verde is getting so many chances, they just can't capitalize.

Great game. That team and entire country has a lot to be proud for.
The guy kicked it in his own goal!
It's to prevent a player cherry picking near the opponent's goal the entire time. I get that. But I hate the effect of the rule though. Oftentimes defenders go to sleep and completely lose track of the guy they are guarding. But no worry, they will get saved by the offsides cal anyways.
I'm not hopeful with one of our best guys being suspended. But my eyes will be glued to the TV now matter what. Can't wait.
Would you rather Sweet Home Alabama?
Suck it you Bosnian frickers!
