LSU could be getting a major boost on defense ahead of next week's matchup against Alabama.

According to CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz, star linebacker Whit Weeks has continued to make good progress in his recovery from a fractured leg and could return to practice next week.

Zenitz added that Weeks could potentially return to game action as early as next Saturday against Alabama.

Weeks suffered the injury during LSU's 35-6 win over Texas A&M on September 26 and underwent surgery two days later.

The possibility of getting Weeks back would be welcome news for LSU's defense as the Tigers prepare for a challenging stretch of SEC games.

LSU hosts Alabama on Saturday, November 7, at 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC.

I know Weeks wants to get back as soon as possible. Watching him on the sidelines is awesome supporting his team. I say he won’t be back until they go to Tennessee.
