how on brand

Our senior trip was to Puerto Vallerta....it took place after graduation and it was with chaperones. It was absolutely hilarious that the chaperones thought that they were going to tell me what to do.

We went on family trips for my older siblings. But by the time I graduated my parents financial situation had changed so I didn’t go on one.

No, nor would I have wanted to; these poor kids these days don’t know a second of freedom until they are out of college. I feel bad for them.

I took my son on a 2 night offshore bluewater trip. I told him he could go anywhere he wanted I would give him 2k to do it. He found that trip, it was $900 per person, and asked if I would take him. I was more than happy.

My wife and 3 other ladies took our daughters friend group of 6 to the Bahamas. The ladies stayed at the resort next door to the girls. Good thing they did, one of the girls had to end up being medi-vaced to Miami from going into a diabetic coma. Shes doing fine now.

My parents did not want me to go to PC after graduation (1989). I started a petition at school, got over 100 signatures and they relented.
Different strokes for different folks.

Glad it worked out for you.

1998 Cancun

Our chaperones were a couple 21 year olds

If parents would have come, we would have stayed home

A lot of beach areas do not rent to anyone under 25 now, in large part because of people in our age range.

Both of my younger kids picked family vacations for us to go on. My son picked the mountains in Tennessee. My daughter wanted Disney, she would still pick Disney if we offered to pay for a family vacation there

Things are different now, coming out of high school. Once they are in college, it's pretty much the same, though.

Stepdad took me and a friend to Indy 500. So thankful for that experience.

Cancun, 1996. Organized, so I went for free. About 50 or so, zero chaperones. Great times.

My son spent all last week in a Destin beach house we rented for him and 7 of his friends. We stayed home. One kids parents stayed in Fort Walton but they were pretty much on their own all week.

I skipped senior year and went straight to college.

Did take each of my kids on a senior trip though. Stepson ended up backing out of his so went to Cozumel with my oldest daughter instead.

In the 60s, many went to Viet Nam on their senior trip. The parents declined.
