ESPN and SEC Network personality Peter Burns believes LSU has a legitimate gripe with its placement in the initial College Football Playoff rankings released Tuesday night.

The Tigers (6-2) entered at No. 14 despite two narrow road losses to top-10 teams in Ole Miss and Kentucky, along with a dominant season-opening win over Clemson.

During Wednesday's edition of SEC This Morning, Burns questioned why LSU wasn't ranked higher, pointing to the Tigers' strength of schedule, quality of losses, and impressive wins throughout the season.

Here's what Burns had to say:

“I would say maybe the biggest gripe should be LSU at 14,” Burns said on SEC This Morning. “You destroyed Clemson at the beginning of the season. You lost to a top-10 team, Ole Miss, by one score in a heated rivalry game in their place. You lost to a top-10 team, Kentucky, by one point on the road, and yet you’re 14?.

“Like so, there is not a bad loss. You blew out your non-conference power four opponent. You crushed Clemson in the opener, and you’ve looked dominant pretty much against every single other team, and yet you’re ranked 14th. Like that, to me, if I’m complaining to them this morning, LSU fans should be pissed off at No. 14.”
