Ed Orgeron spoke publicly for the first time about the serious health scare that kept him away from LSU during fall camp and caused him to miss several games at the start of the season.

In a video posted by Our Lady of the Lake Health, Orgeron credited his doctors with saving his life and thanked them for caring for him throughout his recovery.

“I was about to die,” Orgeron said. “They saved my life, and I’m very, very grateful for that.”

Orgeron said two of his doctors came to his house over a weekend and another opened up the hospital on a Sunday so he could get his wrap changed.

“You know, we talk about family, one team, one heartbeat,” Orgeron said. “Our Lady of the Lake has the best family of doctors I’ve ever seen in my life.”

Why doesn't he simply have a concierge doctor with his money? But Thank the Good Lord Coach Orgeron is still here.

I don’t know if he has all that much money left. That’s why he came back to work. He spent a lot living large with his lady friend and travel.
