When you graduated HS did you go with your parents on a “ Senior Trip”?

We all went to Panama City Beach for a week I’m old almost 60 but we partied it up for a week. Hell I went to PCB my junior and senior year. That being said I’m kind of glad because I have a lot of Grandkids so I’m glad they can’t do things we done. But when did “ Senior Trip “ with parents become such a big thing

No trip anywhere, back to my after school job, summer job, and commuting to Nicholls State. Graduating HS wasn’t a big deal. Pat on the back for GPA only.

No.

My parents didn’t need to turn the accomplishment of feeding me, clothing me, and getting me to school for 12 years as victory lap for themselves.

My FB feed is full of helicopter parents taking their kids on their Senior trips with large groups of their kids friends.

It’s cringey, but to each their own.

I paid for my own trip to Cancun. I survived.

Graduated HS 2011. Rented house in Panama City with friends. No parents.

We would have cancelled plans if parents had to be present.

At our after-graduation party (Jefferson Orleans) where most of us were drinking illegally, someone started passing around a legal pad to sign up for a Cancun trip, so I signed up and forgot about it.

About a week later, my dad asked me about a senior trip that I signed up for. So I told him about it. To my disbelief he said it sounded like fun and told me to get some details. I did and he said yes.

4 teachers went as “chaperones”, and they got as hammered as we did every day. Great trip.

Hell naw!

The whole class went together on a school bus with one chaperone whom was the principal.

It was 1994 and we all acted as adults except for the drinking but we didnt get wild and crazy because our parents woukd have killed us. Literally.

We went to Coco Beach, Dinsey World and Panama City Beach.

What a time to be alive.

My parents did not want me to go to PC after graduation (1989). I started a petition at school, got over 100 signatures and they relented.
