LSU is reportedly working to bring former defensive coordinator Dave Aranda back to Baton Rouge in an analyst-type role, according to CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz.

Zenitz reported Thursday that Aranda, who most recently served as Baylor's head coach, is currently in Baton Rouge as LSU explores adding him to Lane Kiffin's staff.

Aranda previously served as LSU's defensive coordinator from 2016 to 2019 and was a key part of the Tigers' undefeated national championship team in 2019.

Following that championship season, Aranda left LSU to become the head coach at Baylor, where he led the Bears to a Big 12 championship and a Sugar Bowl victory in 2021. Baylor fired him on October 25 after seven seasons in Waco.

A potential return would reunite Aranda with LSU, this time in a supporting role alongside defensive coordinator Blake Baker.

I think this is pointing to Baker being offered head coaching jobs at the end of the year.

Hell yes, I think he is better than BB. Aranda should would not have left a hole to drive a truck through against KY. BB will get a HC position next year and Aranda slides right in as the DC. Smart thinking CLK!
