I left Louisiana for Texas in my late 40s and have not regretted it a single second. It was a spur of the moment decision for a better paying job (didn’t have much means at the time but took the chance) and it paid off exponentially over the past several years in every way.
I’ve gotten refunds for the last decade. Getting money back from the state this year and owe the Feds almost the same amount. It was a wash. Much worse than usual.

Vastly underrated. Low maintenance, good companions, no need for walks or being taken out to shite all the time or any need for constant attention. They keep pests away and don’t slobber all over the place. I could go on and on. When it’s 30 degrees out and people are out escorting their dogs to their business, I’m warm inside.

Caught two decent bass and 8 white perch at Bundick’s Lake this evening in about two hours. Never saw another person on the south end of the lake. May be worth the trip. But probably not. This was an outlier. Usually only get a few small cats. Was a good day.

There have been quite a few more beautiful than her. Just my opinion. I wouldn’t throw her out, unless one of scores of others better looking showed up. 0% chance of any of that happening tho.
