Haven’t turned mine on yet. Enough of a breeze blowing with windows up after sunset and it’s been fine.

A properly sized unit will run half the day or more. The oversized unit will start and stop frequently and raise electric costs. Undersized will run constantly and raise costs. Trust the installer, not the brand.

I just had to call a hvac guy in today to fix a clogged condensation line on my upstairs unit. I tried everything I could find on YouTube but couldn’t fix it. He was here less than an hour and charged me $60 (he lives in my neighborhood). A little water damage but it’s manageable.
Unit is only 5 years old, It’s humming.

I paid a man $250 to take apart all three of mine, treat with cleaning chemicals and blow out the lines and dust, and basically clean them spotless. They are running like magnificent beasts. Will do the same thing again next year. Surprising how a deep cleaning to the inside unit and condenser outside can work wonders!!

Just shy of 3k sf interior, another 1500 of back Veranda, plus a shop.

It’s holding. It will sit on 78 until about 930/10 bf it starts going down. I have it set to 73. It will hit 73 by morning. Or 74 since it’s so hot out. 6 year old Trane. When I replace it won’t be Trane.

And since I got the three new units installed a year and a half ago I haven’t had an electric bill over $200. And I keep them all on a by comfortable setting.
The ones I had were old and two of them were like Frankenstein units. I used to try to just run the one in the front part of the house
I was in most of the time and run the others only when I had company or was going to be back there. My bill was over $200 a month at that point.
My buddy who installed the new units told me that it would be more efficient just to keep them all on and set to a comfortable temperature. I was skeptical, but I’ll be damned if he wasn’t right.
Also, these three units are much more efficient than the old ones so I’m pretty sure that has a pretty big effect.

Calculated BTU sizing, plus oversized air mover size = a whole other level of comfort.
Moving air is the key, thus the push for ceiling fans years ago before more studies and testing was done on what creates a more comfortable environment inside a living space.

Are you able to connect a shop vac to the exterior drip line pipe?
