It was her first ever PBA tournament and a major/one of the biggest tournaments of the year

There's more than a dozen women that have played in minor/developmental pro leagues around the world, yet baseball is the sport most difficult for them to play? Baseball has by far the lowest floor for athleticism requirements among the big 5 sports and someone handicapped could make it at 1st base if they can consistently hit .300

I literally already laid out how it could happen. There's a girl on the US women's rugby team that's 6'1 200 lbs, was on a volleyball scholarship before converting to rugby and sprints the same speed as an average MLBer(27 ft/s). You have a girl with that frame lifting consistently from age 12-25 and she'll be just as strong as your typical major leaguer. An equivalent male lifting seriously will obviously be stronger, but your average MLBer isn't putting in that much work in the weight room. Add in the generational hand-eye coordination and the athleticism gap is pretty much closed for baseball. Now add in their dad being a college level coach that is dedicated to developing their potential as a baseball player from t-ball age and you're cooking
Also frick everyone, there are already women playing in international minor leagues.

2nd girl throws 86 MPH, that's faster than Moyer over his last decade
And there were women that played in the Negro leagues

re: More Georgia players arrested for reckless driving and speeding
Posted by SECCaptain on 2/19/26 at 9:19 pm to TTsTowel
If this continues, there will be an accident at some point that will likely be fatal given the speeds. And given the lack of action by the AD/Kirby, instead allowing this behavior to perpetuate, I'm not so sure the the University shouldn't be held accountable if/when something does eventually happen. This isn't a player behavioral problem at this point, it's a Georgia locker room problem
A culture promoting reckless driving has permeated throughout the team, so why shouldn't the university/athletic department be liable if/when there's an accident? There's an obvious correlation between being a player on the team and engaging in reckless driving, yet none of the adults want to hold the players accountable, choosing to endanger anyone/everyone else unlucky enough to share a road with them instead

The entire thing was obviously rehearsed/coordinated to stir up interest for the match. You think he just went off on a random tangent in a press conference the week of the fight that so happened to end with him offending every single non-white/conservative demo that exists? There will be a lot of people now tuning in that didn't even know the fight was scheduled simply hoping to watch him get his arse kicked

It's not just a softball term, there's historical precedent for players with 0 power and subpar defense making it to the show and having long careers as slap hitters with elite speed. Juan Pierre and Otis Nixon are 2 obvious examples. This theoretical player may not have elite speed, but they wouldn't be a liability either=
5'10 175 lbs average mlb strength average mlb speed/athleticism generational hand eye coordination with 15 years working with a college coach 24/7 on player development? They're going to be a low level college player at worst with those traits, hell the girl that played D1 for Brown(yes she was trash, that's irrelevant) wasn't nearly that gifted
That field was 1 woman vs 62 men. Discounting relative skill level, the men should win should >98/100 tournaments based on sheer probability

Where athleticism/physicality is actually a factor? Bowling is the right answer, a woman has actually won one of the 5 "majors" on the PBA tour.
Under the right circumstances, a woman might be able to make it in pro baseball as a contact hitter/slapper and play 1st base. Give one of the players on the US national rugby team elite hand eye coordination(99.999th percentile), a parent with college level coaching experience fully dedicated to raising them to be a baseball player and have them weight train their entire lives/start playing t-ball vs the boys at age 4 and move up, I think it could happen
