I am currently under a blanket on the sofa its so cold.
One runs about 8 hours per day, and the other larger unit runs about 10, but I am about to keep the house at 72 all day no problems
I need more insulation in the guest house attic, though. That unit is old and running over 12 hours per day. I am shocked it's holding up. When it dies, I am switching to a mini-split there to save money.

Haven’t turned my AC unit on yet this year except to run the fan a little through the filter.
Speaking of insulation and AC efficiency
I need a plug on some affordable windows and glass door.
Andersen’s quoted me $125K for 11 standard sized windows and 3 sliding glass doors

Just as the father-in-law for some more money

You jinxed me. Had mine serviced on the 7th of this month. Kicking along just fine until this morning. Sound heard from electrical panel and now no cold air.
They even replaced the capacitor “that was going bad”

It can be 104 outside and my air conditioner might come on four or five times a day for five minutes or less
Your ac runs for 25 minutes a day in 104 degree heat? You have one of those carburetors that get 175mpg too?
How do you remove moisture from the air?

I recommend everyone have a spare capacitor and contactor on hand at all times. $25 worth of parts can save your arse on a hot day.
If ever unsure what microfarad or contractor needed I can walk you through it in the home and garden board.

Home AC is holding up. Big Bertha is a 5 ton who has been living her truth since 2021. Showing no signs of slowing down. Knock on wood.

Mine is working overtime and struggling. Got a bit of a break with rain and clouds the past few days. Getting a new compressor hopefully this week.

I spoke too soon. Went out today. Swapped out the capacitor with a spare… still nothing. Thought “uh oh…”
Fortunately, just the drain pan getting clogged and filling. Back in business with an 18.8 degree drop

Had to get the cat o’ nine tails out and whip it a little, but it’s chugging along.

Do y’all need two A/Cs units in the South?

holding. It will sit on 78 until about 930/10 bf it starts going down. I have it set to 73. It will hit 73 by morning. Or 74 since it’s so hot out. 6 year old Trane. When I replace it won’t be Trane.
Your problem isn’t your air conditioner.

Entergy $200 last bill.

On the smaller guest house, yes. On the "big house" at my estate, we have at least a dozen.
