Home school is the way to go now, they are brainwashing our youth in Public schools.

I can do my job sufficiently as a parent to quash any brainwashing that is going on, but I'm not sure that I'm so good of a miracle worker that I could do away with the social retardation that comes from being home schooled.

“just saying” that this “fact” is irrelevant. Your kid is going to be in a better environment with better peers in private school the vast majority of the time

Yeah, it's a great deal. When we moved to NC from GA this new position got her about double her pay and then free tuition. I was all smiles not having to write a check for that!

Do your kids go to private school?

No, the public schools around here are very good. I wouldn't have moved somewhere where private school was needed.

I went to private school in the Lake Charles area. Send them to public

To counter your argument and to further my recommendation.....op go look at the rate at which the graduates of each school in the lake Charles area graduate from college within 6 years of ha graduation.

Look at overall % of graduates that have college degrees. Decide who you want your kid around and if you believe you as a parent can have your kid beat those stats.

I understand parenting and demographics play a huge roll, but bottom line is the stats are the stats for a reason.

Where would this data be located

ETA - if we do private, it will be through 8th grade I think. Barbe has been an 'A' rated school for a while and I would want them to have some public school experience

1. Yes my kids go to a private school
2. Yes there are good public schools in Lafayette
3. We would go to a private school no matter where we lived
4. They are very affordable in Louisiana compared to other places

Ascension is where it's at...specifically St Amant and Dutchtown area/feeder schools. Dutchtown is ranked higher than a lot of private schools. Private school rankings are skewed because obviously nearly 100% of those parents give a shit, public schools in the right areas (Livingston, Central Community, Zachary, Ascension) attract far better teachers than private schools

Both go to private school in NYC. The cost is a shade under tulane’s tuition

The private schools in NYC and NE are in a different league. There are many $50k+ plus schools to choose to apply and get rejected. It’s a small sample size, but the people I know that have gone to one or send their kids to one are impressive, well-rounded people.

Well, I am very social. I knew a lot of super religious homeschooled kids, and maybe I am an outlier.

Working on my pin-up pics, will keep you posted. I hear there are nude beaches in Greece. Bon Voyage!

My kids went to Mansfield ISD in DFW. My middle son is on the Dean's List at LSU and is breezing through full- time. My Daugther transferred from MISD to gifted at Woodlawn, not so great- she struggled the last two years of school- Gifted programs are not so great if you ask me, certainly don't hold a candle to Texas schools.
