Quite the improvement from Abreu and Big Jon.
Are...are we playing frick the closer?

Well,

Diaz stuck it up my arse

I mean he still chased a slider, his swing was all arms and his arse was in the dugout. It's still an awful swing that's causing him so many problems....but he managed to not strikeout and somehow got us the league. Take what we can get out of his crazy hacks.

Joe prob would pinch hit with dubon

If he wasn't starting him constantly.

Also, Paredes would run a competitive race with an actual turtle.
Bringing the go ahead run to the plate!

But it's Christian Walker. Sorry.
He hasn't thrown a changeup for in the zone and we've whiffed on 6/9 of them.
Predictably, just like the last time we put a runner on 1st, the next guy swings at the first pitch for a wimpy arse ground out. I hate this lineup so fricking much.
3rd double play of the series for Walker. The transition into Abreu continues
TK and Blum were talking about how Olson's fastball has gotten knocked around but his changeup and slider have been really good for him.

That's bad news for our aggressive, chase happy lineup if they're going to go after his non strikes and keep him away from his fastball.

ETA: like that shite there
I'm about over Yainers frickery.

Maybe we can nudge him to audition for the Bananas. His Schtick is that he swings a 20 foot bat. Pitcher throws toward the dugout and Yainer believes he can get wood on it.

That's a better use of his skills than what he's doing now.
Submitted for all of our enjoyment.

Our man is now hitting. 331 with 11 doubles 6 HR 23 RBI 12 walks. Last year his peaks in those categories for any month were a .310 average, 6 doubles, 7HR 16RBI 10 walks.

He is striking out a lot more. 25 strikeouts this month. Most in a month last year was 17.

Of note, last year he hit .230 with RISP. This year, .306. Ooof.
Cam is out of the lineup again?

Loperfido nowhere to be seen either

Just an FYI

Loperfido is in AAA hitting .216 with a 31% k rate. Jake Bloss is there with him and a 5.75 ERA.

I randomly thought of the Greinke trade today. Did a where are they now check in on the parts we gave up.

Seth Beer played in 43 games over the 21 and 22 seasons. He's playing in the independent leagues now

JB Bukakke has pitched minimally out of the bullpen in 33 games for parts of 3 seasons with Arizona and Milwaukee. Currently with the Brewers but injured for the 2025 season

Corbin Martin has a 6.71 ERA in 17 MLB games, last pitched in thr majors in 2022. Been in the Brewers and now Orioles minor leagues as a reliever. Currently has a 9+ ERA in AAA.

Josh Rojas was the non prospect toss in at the back of that trade and his the only one who's turned into a contributing major league. He's amassed 6+ WAR over 6 seasons with a .247 average.

I remember being thrilled to get ZG but thinking holy shite we gave up a lot a lot for him. Maybe not.
AJ Blubaw is working out at Daikin today. Astros are TBA for tomorrow's starter. Joe declined to say who was pitching tomorrow in an interview earlier today.
I haven't cared about Monster Jam since the late 90s when i was a kid but Tom Meents and Dennis Anderson were on a different level back then. They were the show.
7 and 8 runs in back to back games? What kind of dark sorcery are we into?

I want Dubie to go away. His plate approach is the exact kind of garbage we need to delete. But Joe keeps starting this guy. He swings at the first pitch every time, he has no zone discipline, no power and is a groundball machine.
Dubon has seen 5 pitches tonight and swung at all 5.
