It’s only been a week and I went ahead and bought a better pan. This one is cast iron, made in Japan (not China)

How we gonna make our rouxs without an aluminum magnalite pot?
Black iron, bitch!!!!
I love my #10 & #8 Griswold dutch ovens.

How did you go with this much effort but miss so hard on the sesame seeds?
Seeds are just garnish.
BTW, I tried to make an omurice omelette tonight. It bombed!!!
I used Oak Grove jambalaya mix (no meat), and added some stir fry veggies. It wasn’t bad.
The sauce was ketchup, A1, wash your sister, shiracha, and soy. The sauce wasn’t bad actually pretty damn good.
Now the omelette, was a hot mess, but I did get it into a football shape. It wasn’t bad actually just too over done to give me that dramatic sliced opening.
Over all together, the taste was a 6/10, rice was 6/10, sauce was 7/10, but the omelette was a 3/10.
It is something I will make again, even if it only comes out like this.

Do you see any O gauge Lionel stuff in your searches?
Rarely, because most train collectors know what they have and are not going to sell them in a garage sale. That being said, I have found some Lionel from the 50’s-80’s, mostly cars, not engines.
Once I did drop $500 at an estate sale, on a huge lot of pre-war Lionel. I flipped it for a couple thousand dollars. That is when I learned what Marklin was. There was a couple old cast iron light poles that were bigger than O scale, marked Marklin. I listed them by themselves, they went for $500+. I had no idea.

nice! Whats your method for determining if something is potentially of significant value when finding it in a random sale?
That’s the fun of my hobby. When I started this hobby 20+ years ago, there were no smart phones. I had to chance it and over time, just learned what or what not to buy. Since smart phones, I could simply just look any and everything up, like a lot of the guys do on YouTube.
Take for instance the wooden cats in the OP. I bought them blindly, but I could tell by the quality they maybe worth something.
The Klein bag was no brainer buy. As a former electrician, I know the value in Klein and Fluke tools. I buy them anytime I see them if the price is right.

What recipe do you use?
Simple salt, soy, sugar, mirin, sometimes cream.

Good job. If you’d like to test your Japanese egg cooking skills try making omurice.
I am actually planning on trying to make an omurice tonight. Put it over jambalaya (just for effect). Once I perfect the omelette, I’ll work on the rice and sauce.

Just curious… do you ever come across pocket knives while you’re out buying?
Every once in a while, but it is usually the cheap Chinese made junk. Some times I find Bucks, Old Timers, etc.

Will you link your store again? I sell vintage mens clothing on ebay & Im always in awe of "everything" sellers & how they keep all their inventory straight. I have to bag & label everything with a sku # or I'd never be able to find it. Couldnt imagine just having a pick a bunch of random shite all the time.
I can’t link it but my eBay name is the same as my screen name here

I’m sorry, but used flip flops is where I draw the line
Myself, but if someone is paying $20+ for a pair of used Crocs, I’ll sell them.
You should have been here about 5 years ago when I sold a jockstrap and cup from the late 50’s for $53. I bought it as a joke for here, and it sold.

Do you ever come across any vintage Delta Airlines or Pan Am stuff?
I do find stuff like that every once in a while, I always buy it, it always does well.
The same goes with anything NASA.
I love aerospace and golden age of commercial airlines.

Just sold the Klein bag for $21 (before fees), so after the $1 investment and eBay fees, I should have about $17 to flip towards my $1 Japan trip.

If I wasn’t working nights last night and tonight, I would have been out all day. But instead, I was only out for a couple hours.

I love the haters. It’s like the movie about Howard Stern. People who liked him listened for an average of 2 hours a day. People that hated him listened for an average of 2.5 hours a day.
I get more replies from the haters.
