Some Spaniard let some horses escape, the Comanche Indians adapted them to warfare, and the Europeans were stopped in Mexico.

A Comanche brave was probably the freest type of person to ever live in North America. He didn’t answer to a leader, he had countless acres to roam, and he took on as many women as he wanted.

Now you know why Canadians don’t hablan Espanol.

Some of you in Texas have heard of a ‘Comanche Moon’? It was when they would raid and wipe people out.

I wonder how they decided who got the saddle. Rock, paper, scissors?

The Comanche didn’t play. If you ever want to read a good book on them, check out Empire of the Summer Moon by S. C. Gwynne.

The Spanish. They screwed up by letting some get free.

I’ve got Comanche in my lineage, that’s where I get my bloodlust from. They were savages

The Comanche kidnapped Natalie Wood and made her give up the poon. John Wayne wanted to kill her for that.

Man, Maynard James Keenan’s next side project is going to be angry Native American music!

Read Indian Depredations in Texas if you want a first hand account of the fight of the Texans against Comanche’s and other aggressive tribes. Written in the vernacular of the times, it is a spellbinding account of life there from about 1825 to 1875. Interesting reading!

I'm in the middle of the lonesome dove series. It's fiction, obviously, but it does paint a pretty fearsome picture of the Comanche.

It's prompted me to go read some of the real accounts, and it's hard to overstate how much of a master of their territory they were.

Their women were tough as frick too.

They’d hightail it for like 70 miles nonstop on those horses and nobody could catch them.

Until the Rangers shut them down and wiped them out with their own tactics.

We’re Comanche the ones who rode the side of horses to remain hidden? If so, what bad arse ingenuity!

His books were amazing and pretty much ruined lesser novels for me. I once tried to read a Clancy novel and found it utterly juvenile.

If you like his work, the Thalia series or the Duane Moore series.
