Pricing at the consumer level is the very end of a VERY long line of government manipulation, corruption, price fixing and subsidization.
So to use this as your example of where a "free market" works is a great way to demonize end-user businesses and justify more of the aforementioned governmen...

the TDI was a car that got like 48mpg and cost like 16,000 dollars.
