I think this one is better than the last album.

I haven't seen them in a while (over a year). I remember getting plastered with them and Wade Bowen & West 84 at the Hangar in New Orleans when it was still in business. 15 fricking people there that night. HUGE CROWD!

That place was awesome. I saw Kevin Fowler and Jason Boland there. What happened to it? Katrina?

I was at both of those, too. I also saw Reckless Kelly there once. Texas Music Thursdays. Boy those were the days.

I think Katrina flooded that fricker out and the owners opted not to fix it back up. I don't think it was a bad move by them. It wasn't necessarily an ideal destination.

Saw Eli Young open for Jack Ingram in Norman, OK 5 years ago. Good stuff. They actually played first, then the bastard sons of Johnny Cash, then JI. Man, Jack was so much better before Nashville got a hold of him.

Jack Ingram, along with Pat Green, caught the Nashville Syndrome. Their music has went downhill since.

Say what you want about Cross Canadian Ragweed, but I see a band emerging and maturing into their truest form. Their previous album may sound a little too polished for some people's liking, but the lyrics are heartfelt and deep. Cody has always been able to bring that element to his music. The biggest reason CCR and RRB are staying true to their sound is because their labels are not controlling them. They tell them to cut loose and make it happen.

BTW, the new Chris Knight album is my new favorite Americana album of all time.

At the HOB in NO Friday and at the Varsity Oct 7. Won't be able to make it Friday, but I'm gonna go see them at the Varsity.

That's why Jason Boland started his own label. You heard his new cd yet?

Aww frick yeah... I got Boland's the day I got CK's. Dude, how about track one? Sons and Daughters of Dixie. That's a damn good song.

Then my other favorite is Down Here on Earth.

Thats a badass song. He and RK have a song about Katrina. All of the songs on that CD are badass. My favorite is Something You Don't See Everyday. "Your holy war is just to deep for me to fathom; you get 72 virgins, hoss, you better hope I don't get there first" Favorite line of all time.

Picked up Roger Creager's new album a couple of weeks ago. Not impressed.

Hopefully the RRB's latest album was better than their last. I liked their older stuff, but wasn't impressed with "just a matter of time".

Like It Used to Be was their best, IMHO. I think this is better than Just a Matter of Time

re: Randy Rogers Band
I'm still listening to it, but so far it sounds better than "Just A Matter of Time" but not as good as "Rollercoaster" or "Like it Used to Be"

re: Randy Rogers Band
He kinda slowed it down towards the end. All in all, I think it's a solid effort.

When the Circus Leaves Town is my favorite off this one.

Point being, Cody went on the record saying they never claimed to be a country band.

I have all the CK albums, and this new one by far is my favorite. Enough Rope was good, and the self-titled album was great, but this one blew my mind. Heart of Stone is a masterpiece.
