It’s okay to not like soccer, but this take is stupid.
Soccer is the only sport that isn’t hammered with commercials. You actually watch the sport instead of people standing around on the field waiting for the commercial break to end.

Yes, the pricing is just absurd. I was really looking forward to the World Cup coming to the States, just to be a part of it, but not worth the price.
Also it is quite dumb that all of the US matches are on the West coast. I know the groups are regionalized so they could have hubs for the teams, but US really should have played 1 West Coast game, 1 Central game and 1 East Coast game. Only solid chance to see them in Central or East coast is Semi or Finals, which won't happen.

It hasn't started yet. I'm actually going to be in Seattle during a game, but it's Iran playing Egypt and Seattle is celebrating that asthePride month game, so I'm gonna kinda pass on that one.

I'm anxiously awaiting LSU-Clemson to start the college football season.

Because few people in this country care about soccer?

If nobody has said it, I'll say. Soccer is boring as frick to watch.

No commercials to stop play.
This is very underrated in soccer watching.
Even if there is am injury on the field, they barely stop play long enough to sweep the hurt guy off and get back to playing.

The same reason we didn’t care about it in all the past years either.
Soccer is boring and gay.

I will watch it because I enjoy countries playing each other in Soccer, like the World Cup and the Euros. I do have to say though, the amount of countries that are using players that were born in other countries (looking at you France) is kind of a turnoff. This will sound racist, but when I watch France or Germany play and half the team (majority of France's team) comes from Africa it turns me off. The US team is kind of similar with Mexican players

1. I do think the hosting model doesn't work well, it doesn't feel completely like a "US" event"
2. The men's team has been underwhelming
3. Marketing has been downright terrible. I see no marketing anywhere and I am in Washington so we have some games in Seattle.
4. Yeah I do think the anti-US sentiment is palpable right now, which sucks.
And Pricing. This 100%.. They were incredibly greedy. Pull those game ticket prices below $800 dollars.
I am booking an AirBnB in Ft. Worth for a completely different event, but same Weekend as Round of 32 in Ft. Worth, not Dallas, but it looks like people jacked up prices for the games that weekend. It's all insane.

Not until it starts and even then not as much as I care about the other sports we have here.

there is NEVER any excitement in the US about the World Cup weeks ahead of the competition. There will be some excitement once the games start.
Tickets are extremely overpriced. FIFA looks at the US as a rich country and is trying to get as much cash as possible.
The cheapest ticket right now in Houston on the resale market is $172 to watch a terrible Cape Verde vs Saudi match. Both squads will most likely be 0-2 and going home after that match. Every other match is $500+ to get in the door.

Also adding more teams was stupid.
