Why would anyone who lives in another country give a shite about the US's border policies? Also, what a world we live in where "don't let in people who shouldn't be here" is controversial.
I've seen Europeans post about how fascist we are for requiring them to submit biometrics.
If you want to visit the EU, you have to submit biometrics but somehow that's different.

How in the world does this guy know the excitement level of other countries? I promise you Mexico is excited about the event, though not very optimistic about their squad.
It would be insanely expensive to do a big World Cup Trip. Also, the games are spread out all over North America in huge cities with hotels stacked on hotels - they were never going to be close to capacity / demand surges.
FIFA is to blame for ticket prices and their leadership needs to take a dirt nap. Won the lottery in Houston for Cat 2 and I am sitting at the very fricking top of the stadium while they reserve high priced seats without the demand.
Also, its soccer - everyone in America knows no one cares until the ball is dropped at kickoff.
