When people suck at something it becomes gay.

Majority of americans couldn't kick a ball to save their life. So its gay.

They just couldn't help themselves.

I've not heard anything about this alleged boycott, but they're trying to make it a thing

Why would anyone who lives in another country give a shite about the US's border policies? Also, what a world we live in where "don't let in people who shouldn't be here" is controversial.

MLS or fifa?

One is a league, the other is a governing body. They're not comparable.

NYT for 2 decades: You should be ashamed of America. All western countries should hate and dismantle themselves.

Also NYT: Like, why is nobody more pumped about the Olympics and WC guys!

Also, with the men's WC we aren't a realistic contender.

We weren't in 1994 either and it was a big deal. Though that may have had to do some with the first time hosting it.

You probably think 9-6 was one of the greatest games ever played. Define irony.

well that's b/c you're an idiot, but your the NY Times so we already knew that.

On top of which, the tickets have been priced punishingly high.

This is the reason why it has less interest than it should. frick Fifa.

Let's take someone from Scotland who wants to come over and watch their team play on a Saturday in Boston.
Fly in Friday, stay 2 nights, head back home Sunday. Nice weekend trip for 2.
$1000 each for flights
$1000 each for the shittiest seats in the house, to watch your team play against Haiti.
at least another $1000 for hotel and food.

So $5k for the weekend to watch your team play against a 3rd world country while sitting in the nose bleed of some gigantic stadium?
Who the hell wants to do that? Then you'll get arse raped with probably $20 beers.
Europeans are used to being able to travel anywhere within Europe for $100-200. Food is cheap. Tickets are reasonable.
They aren't paying these ridiculous American prices, and Americans are getting sick and tired of it as well.

Not accurate ... i scooped up a pretty decent seat for $300 yesterday for a match at SOFI. Not the US, but still the world cup and should be an experience.

In the nose bleed, to watch Iran and New Zealand, two teams who have no business being in a World cup.
Congrats.

Don't worry, you'll be able to sit wherever you want once the game starts. I'd bet money that stadium won't even been halfway full for that game.

Because a significant subgroup, in our nation, has made national pride extremely taboo by demonizing the flag, anthem, and overall positivity about anything American. This group also has a strong soccer presence.

The only national teams that get rooted against by Americans are the women's soccer team and the basketball teams. It ain't the left doing it either.

Ya, that tends to happen when the US Women's team shits all over the country, lead by that ugly dyke bitch Rapinoe.

It does feel like there's no hype for this thing. Does the OT care at all?

Never cared before and don’t care now.

TBTB are trying so hard to open more markets in existing sports and create new ones that they can cash in on.

And just like that the Americans should become a favorite, simply because I’ve seen things like this blow up in the face of pansies for over a decade now.
