The only national teams that get rooted against by Americans are the women's soccer team and the basketball teams. It ain't the left doing it either.
So the teams/organization that are petulantly anti-American get rooted against by based, normal people. Thank you for helping make my point.

Tennis just isn't that big a sport anymore. A shame, but a fact

The United States doesn’t want to be part of something with countries who have been stealing from us for decades.
End of story.
We are ready to rumble not kick a fricking ball around like some poor schmuck.

Nobody can afford to attend it. /Thread
*NFL, NCAA, NBA, and MLB need to take note.
The average American is being priced out of Sports Entertainment. Everything these Organizations do is to help increase profits, and the costs of being a fan continues to grow with no end on sight.
Eventually interest will wane because of this. People will find something more affordable to enjoy with their spare time.

Why No Excitement?
Sorry, but it's because SOCCER is fricking BORING!
Americans have far more access, options to experience, indulge themselves in far more exciting events, activities, entertainment. Also, in the US a plethora of opportunities & funds to actually play, participate & watch dozens of available sports, adventure, activities.
Question: "Do you know why people Play Soccer"?
Answer: "So they don't have to Watch It"!
Soccer could be "Fixed" however and made Far More Watchable by:
Reducing the enormous Length/Width of the Field (Pitch)..... While Increasing the "Size of the Goals" = More Scoring, Much Faster Plays, Increased Excitement/Interest/Watchability!!
The Pitch is so rediculously large that the players look like midgets. Even though they are hauling arse running, setting up plays.....you can't really tell, see or connect the action - until they get near the goal - which even then then they seem suddenly appear out of nowhere. Even modern video cameras, production struggle to follow/cover the enormous space. Everything looks miniscule until they zoom in which is almost impossible for them to cover and follow the player/play. Even the ball gets swallowed, drowned out and is hard to see and follow.
The Soccer Field/Pitch is too Big. Everything & Everybody, Fans Included, are Disconnected!

In the U.S., soccer was typically followed by two demographics:
Immigrants (who root for their native countries, and straight-ish liberal men who watch soccer as a way to be ironically patriotic while actively subverting and deconstructing tropes of masculinity. Look at me, I watch SOCCER, I’m so worldly and civilized unlike you stupid conservatives who watch barbaric football!
In 2026, there simply aren’t enough liberal men left. The few that do exist are either too gay to care about sports or hate America too much to root for Team USA even ironically. Throw in how this team is somewhat lacking in star power personalities for media narratives and the bad press around how fans have been priced out of attending, immigrants lying low to avoid deportation, and you have a perfect storm of meh

Games almost never go over two hours. No commercials to stop play.
And then the refs arbitrarily add stoppage time, then extra time. We bitch and moan about the need for lasers to measure first downs and automated strike zones, but soccer can’t even get on board with a button to stop and start a clock?

The cheapest ticket right now in Houston on the resale market is $172 to watch a terrible Cape Verde vs Saudi match.
I’m considering attending only because I can make it a day trip and say I went to a WC game. That’s it.

I like soccer but I get why most Americans don’t. The flopping is out of hand. I love football way more for what it’s worth.
Also American soccer is run by woke idiots. It’s fricking d-day and we’re playing Germany wearing rainbow numbers. And they wonder why the sport doesn’t catch on.

Ok but to the people who don’t watch a lot and tune in for the first time, are they watching the best products and athletes at the World Cup?
