This is how I feel about them, I have done 5 cruises, 4 different lines. Princess, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, and Carnival. Carnival was the least spectacular but it wasn't that bad (although some videos you see now look awful).

I look at it like a nice arse hotel that takes you places as opposed to spending the week in one location, yes they can get people-y but I enjoy the variety of destinations you get to visit.

To each their own, but Id encourage everyone to try it at least once, and don't go bottom of the barrel.

As far as “programs” go, this seems ok on the surface, but nothing is ever “free”.

I don't know honestly, there is this infrared strip thing right above the steering column and I think that's what monitors your face, like when I drive it with just my right hand, my arm blocks that thing and it says "driver monitoring system unavailable". So I don't know if it can identify whether or not you are holding a drink, I guess it could if it is a heat map but I doubt it could determine what type of drink. So I am not too sure.
