So how long did it take you to get “good” at this? I’m 51 and busy as hell but I’d love to get into making models, especially as grandkids start getting to an age we could do them together. I worry as my hands seem unsteady in certain activities.

This is how I feel about them, I have done 5 cruises, 4 different lines. Princess, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, and Carnival. Carnival was the least spectacular but it wasn't that bad (although some videos you see now look awful).
I look at it like a nice arse hotel that takes you places as opposed to spending the week in one location, yes they can get people-y but I enjoy the variety of destinations you get to visit.
To each their own, but Id encourage everyone to try it at least once, and don't go bottom of the barrel.
This is true, at the Vicksburg park almost every MS plate was personalized.
