only had one horse fly tear a hole in my calf while biking. Otherwise we had no issues at all.

Just got back from a week in Maine. Beautiful country.

- We stayed in Bar Harbor at The Balance Rock Inn and could not have enjoyed it more. Unbelievable location right near the town, but our own parking, and right on the ocean path. Breakfast every day was great, staff were all outstanding and had a great dinner at their restaurant The Veranda.
- had drinks at Bar Harbor Inn one evening - also beautiful - but much much larger a property than Balance Rock
- the town is nice but mostly t-shirt shops and kitsch stores. Some really good restaurant and bars though. Loved dinner at Tap and Barrel and Pizza at Rosalies (we saw people all week walking around with their pizza boxes so we had to try it the last night), and it was a nice change from seafood.
- The Ivey front yard for drinks, and Finback Alehouse were nice.
- Rented fat tire e-bikes from Acadia Fat Tire Bikes. This was the highlight of the trip - a full day riding the carriage roads in Acadia National Park
- saw one of the greatest sunsets of our lives the first night in bar harbor down on the ocean front. Also did the sunset at Cadillac Mountain but a low level cloud bank on the horizon sort of spoiled it that night. Still amazing views from the top.
- did the park one day using the free bus system and it was nice but very crowded.
- lots of lobster rolls - Bar Harbor Pound and the Ice Cream boat, Beals, and Thurston's. All great.
Drove all over Mount Desert Island - NE Harbor, SW Harbor, Bass Harbor, Seawall, etc. The smaller harbors away from Bar Harbor were really nice.
-drove the coast all the way back to Boston and really liked Wiscasset, Kennebunkport, and Ogonquit, but traffic is an issue on weekends.
- had simply amazing raw oysters a few nights - so briny. Wish I could have a dozen right now.
- We had a sunset cruise lined up but got cancelled due to heavy fog that day. That was the main regret that we did not get on the water. Also, would have liked to explore Schoodic Point, and maybe take a ferry to one of the far out islands or Canada.

- I would go back to Maine in a heartbeat. Some things I would do would be get on the water - sail, lobster boat experience, fish. Would do more hikes away from the main tourist part of the park. Would eat a full lobster instead of rolls. Would have steamed clams. Would move inland to one of the lakes and do some boating and fishing.

It's an interesting place.

Lots of good advice here. I'm flying to Greenville tomorrow to spend a week in Cashiers. Download the AllTrails app. Lots of great trails. If you fish book a guide for fly fishing the local streams.

Tere are so many waterfalls here you could just do a waterfall trip and have every day filled.

Smoky Mountain National Park is not far but honestly its going to be packed. DuPont is a nice place to hike. Gorges State Park is another nice place - get there early and do Rainbow Falls and Turtleback Falls hike. There are also places to river raft in the vicinity.

They should go back and review the game tape after each game and yellow card players who obviously flopped with little or no contact and the result was a change of ball possession (I.e. they fooled the referee)

Stop acting like a sissy and maybe you can retire someday.

For me, I let my company know a few weeks back that I’m hanging it up next June. I might work some remote hours after that just to keep healthcare until my wife turns 65. But that will be completely my call as on my conditions. I’ll settle in for golf, hunting, fishing at our place in Western NC, and an absolute shite ton of travel (before I’m too old to do it right), and I’ll find an organization I want to volunteer for or maybe join a board.

I feel like I’m having Déjà vu from when aggy signed that star studded class a few years back. That one didn’t go well. We’ll see what happens with this one with so many big name guys in one class.

Jimbo was a lazy star chaser. In hindsight a lot of people knew that quite a few of those kids were going to be issues - especially with the cultural that Jimbo created. I think (and hope) that Elko has an entirely different culture. But the proof is in the perfromance. we shall see.

I don’t think this is true but I’m very interested if it is.

Closest place to Highlands for public golf is Sky Valley, Ga.

Highlands is a wasteland for public courses unfortunately.
I can’t even imagine how many times I would hit a ball off the hozzle with that club .

I've been about four times. we've always stayed in Recoleta (Alvear Palace, Park Hyatt, and a few times at much cheaper places near the cemetery).

Have had steaks twice at Fervor and it was outstanding. Great late night old school steakhouse. Had Italian a few times at Sottovoce and enjoyed both meals.

First time there we did the horse races and a mid-day tour of La Boca. Also went to a taco joint in Palermo that was good

Actually Talarico is the farthest thing from heretical. Sure, it flies in the face of the nonsense that evangelical preach but that is what makes him authentic and correct. He is much more in line with serious theologians and scholars and mainstream Christianity than what you obviously believe.

Wow - he goes or went to Austin Theological Seminary, which is about as far left wing as you can get. It's in no way in line with serious theologians. His church pastor/spiritual advisor Jim Rigby is an absolute nutter.

Sorry I'm not voting for a "good man" that will vote almost 100% opposite of what I would want as my Senator.

going there at the end of this month. Staying one night in Tenants Harbor and then four nights in Bar Harbor. Already have the reservation for Cadillac Mountain sunset and a Bar Harbor sunset cruise. Just plan to do some hikes, kick back in town drinking beer, and lounging by our hotel pool. And of course eating lot of different dishes.

The plan is to be chill.

Still sort of confused. So you own all the land around this two acres? If so can’t you just put a fence around the two acres and then they can’t use your land?
I'm not there a lot and usually in and out for game days. But a few casual places that I know of:

Dixie Chicken - burgers and cheap beer
Chicken Oil Company - same.
Koppe Bridge - burgers and fried platters
Coco Shrimp - ate their last week. Really good shrimp tacos
Wings N More for .......wings

Never been but I've heard Napa Flats is a good place.
there is NEVER any excitement in the US about the World Cup weeks ahead of the competition. There will be some excitement once the games start.

Tickets are extremely overpriced. FIFA looks at the US as a rich country and is trying to get as much cash as possible.

The cheapest ticket right now in Houston on the resale market is $172 to watch a terrible Cape Verde vs Saudi match. Both squads will most likely be 0-2 and going home after that match. Every other match is $500+ to get in the door.

he was a movie star. Played the same role in every film - brash guy who talked fast and was blunt. But he was perfect at it and the studio loved him.
