The heroic passengers and flight attendants on board fought back. The phone calls from the plane back that up. As tragic as the entire thing was, it was a blessing that Flight 93 was delayed leaving Newark. That allowed the passengers to find out about the larger attack, prompting their revolt against the filth that hijacked the plane.

But it was insider information that day from airline employees concerning Flight 993.

at about 9:15 ish..........i was on a chopper heading to the gulf and there were two f-15/16's pull up on each side of us. they turned us around. they were bush's escort from florida to louisiana.

now........93 crashed at about 10ish. although the passengers were heroes.........i'm pretty sure that the government scrambled a jet or two and said jet(s) made it in plenty time to execute. not saying they did but, they could've definitely.

. If you recall NO east coast military jets that got airborne had any weapons loaded until it was all over

Here’s what I don’t get about that.
When I was in TAC had three to four pairs of alert F-15’s up and down the East Coast. They were fully loaded with Aim9’s, Aim7’s/Amraams gun ammo and fuel and could scramble in minutes. We had some st Tyndall, Langley had some and there were others. Fact is they were usually FF First Fighter Wing birds out of Langley itself.

Shocked that they didn’t intercept at least one of the planes, Flt 93 in particular

Malaysia flight 17 was shot down by a missile that exploded near it. There was a substantial debris field afterwards.

The logical thing to do, if there is information that suggest an airplane is hijacked and heading for the white house.. Would be to send a jet up and shoot it down.. But there are recordings that paint a picture of what happened.

With that said, lets say a jet shoots it down then the black box is retrieved and you hear that the passengers on the flight was gaining control over the terrorist and was stopping the plane from crashing.. A lot of families would be saying "wait a minute! My loved one might have been able to survive if the plane wasn't shot down.

I honestly can't believe actual, breathing humans question this and walk amongst us everyday. Is everything a conspiracy these days?

What people always fail to mention during all of these conspiracy theories is that on 9/11/2001, there were witnesses on the ground that saw the planes. There were witnesses in Shanksville, and thousands at the Pentagon.

Or was the plane actually shot down by the government?

I want to believe the passengers pulled it off.

I also think it is posdible a missile and cover story was involved.

as much as a lot of people hate to acknowledge it, sometimes the United States isnt the bad guy and sometimes Americans do great things. i know it's hard to believe.

Nah. Cheney had ordered the fighters to shoot down any hijacked plane, but his order didn't come down until a short time after 93 crashed. I don't think there would be any reason to "cover it up" if it did happen anyway. Any president would put out a shootdown order in that scenario.

If you watch documentaries on what happened, the military pilots were confused and didn't know where to go. They just flew around aimlessly. This is because the terrorists turned off their transponders forcing FAA to use blind radar pings to track them. And it was very difficult trying to track them with thousands of other planes showing up on radar.

What a lot of people didn't know is NORAD had no domestic radar back then. All of their radar was focused on the oceans to detect enemy bombers and what not. They had little "insight" about the internal flights inside the country. So when FAA called NORAD for help, NORAD only got "patched in" to FAA's radar since they had none of their own.

Yes, and your mom was the main person who overpowered the terrorists. Since your mom was really a man and she actually had the strength to overpower terrorists.

The passengers overpowered the ones in the main cabin and were close to getting into the cockpit. The terrorist knowing the passengers were close to breaking in, took it down to make sure he took as many out as possible.

Those passengers went down fighting and Americans should be ashamed for forgetting 9/11, and not teaching their children and grandchildren what happened.

This. what a lot of people fail to realize about that day is that comms were a real issue. Half the equipment on Air Force 1 wasn't working. Bush himself is on record saying that was really frustrating for him and why Cheney was having to make so many decisions because he was at the White House at least. Always thought his story about how two Marines carried him to the secure area once things started going down and his feet touched the ground like twice was always hilarious. "When Marines barge in to your office, you don't argue with them."

Our Military is bad arse. Our government only has a patina of competence. Don't forget, someone put a stray bullet through a second floor white house window while Obama was President and they didn't find it for a couple of days.

Back in 2010 my GF and I were babysitting for an Air Force couple. This guy came home drunk and spilled the beans. He was pretty highly ranked and his job was to provide the secretary of defense A B C scenarios and then SoD would decide what to do. One of the scenarios was to shoot it down and provide the media with fake phone calls, stories, etc. He said that option was chosen. This was 16 years ago and even then he said the media rarely knew the truth and would run with whatever BS they gave them.
