Follow LSU Basketball on Social Media During the Summer - HoopyD
Last year (and I'm assuming they'll do it again this year) LSU basketball social media posted an episode each week called "Road Games". It showed Coach Wade and his staff putting the team through intense workouts during the summer. You can really see why the team improved so dramatically under Yea...

re: LSU cashes in again - new space at LSU sold to tailgate company for games - HoopyD
To play devil's advocate.....LSU is a bucket list trip for lots of college football fans. Big groups always come in just to say they've been to a game in Death Valley. For those that don't know any better, this may be the perfect set up. ...

re: West Point, NY - HoopyD
I was hoping to catch the leaves changing but the home schedule is kinda clunky. They have home games 9/8 and 9/15 and then don't play at home again until 10/20. LSU plays SLU on 9/8 so I figured that would be the best time to catch a game that doesn't conflict with LSU. By they way....th...

West Point, NY - HoopyD
For Father's Day, I'm giving my dad a trip to West Point to see an Army football game in September. We have no connection to the school but we've always wanted to see the campus and attend a football game there. I hear its an awesome setting. Any tips? Where to fly into? Where to stay? Must s...

re: No. 20 departs from Victory Hill one final time... - HoopyD
Nice send-off for a Tiger legend. He died at age 80 meaning his life could be divided into 4 quarters of 20. Very fitting! Rest in Peace Mr. Cannon! ...

re: Anyone watching The Terror on AMC? - HoopyD
When I read about events like this in history, I tend to gloss over them. Some ships got stuck in the ice and the crew all vanished. This series really helped humanize the event. Stuck for years on end on a frozen hellscape. Can't eat the food. Having absolutely no idea how you were going t...

re: Anyone watching The Terror on AMC? - HoopyD
Great series! Goodsir's death was well done with the flashes of simplistic beauty (a flower, a mineral, etc...) soothing him as he died. What's the story on the guy Crozier found clinging to life at the end? He said "close" and his face had piercings and chain. Was he a lost cast member fr...

re: Anyone watching The Terror on AMC? - HoopyD
As late as 1852-1858, there are reports of Inuit claiming to have seen Crozier and another man in the area. For perspective, the ships were abandoned in 1848. Still lots of fodder for the series to be extended....

re: Anyone watching The Terror on AMC? - HoopyD
Another outstanding episode. Hodgson trying to maintain his officer status by separating from the other men to eat human meat off of fine china was particularly well done. Why did Hickey order the capture of Crozier? What's the end game in that?...

re: Anyone watching The Terror on AMC? - HoopyD
Earlier, I think Crozier strongly urged that they start walking out but the former captain was insistent that they wait it out. Crozier started making plans to disobey orders and walk out anyway. Can't remember what stopped him though. I think this is the "abandonment" Hickey was referring to. ...

re: The Terror - HoopyD
I think the Tuunbaq was summoned in someway for retribution of the Eskimo deaths by Lady Silence. Great episode. The overall feel of the series is great. Certain doom from an uncertain source. Will you meet you fate at the hands of the Tuunbaq? mutinous crew? due to lead poisoning? the har...

The Terror - HoopyD
Anyone else watching? It's fictionalized account of two ships lost expedition in 1845 to find the Northwest Passage through the Arctic ocean. It's a slow burn but has been really enjoyable. Acting, directing and cinematography have all been outstanding. You have to give it a couple of episode...

re: Hess' preseason comments revisited - HoopyD
You're right. There's no way a team fresh off a national championship appearance with the loss of a ton of senior leadership would ever think that way. ...

Hess' preseason comments revisited - HoopyD
At the season kickoff dinner, Hess said
If you take the name LSU lightly that's your own fault. Because at the end of the day, this is LSU so that means we are going to a kick a lot of arse and take a lot of names
Was it a peek into the psyche of this year's team? All you have t...
