And practices lasted a lot longer and we ran a lot more in full pads. Of course, most of us were skinny and stayed outside all day. IDK.

And we didn't eat a ton of processed food, drink energy drinks and soft drinks all day

The fact no ref has ever been fired for performance besides her.
I know 2 from NFL, 7 college and even more told go away or just never assigned in HS.

assigners at every level dilligently try to send the best crews out there. If ya'll ever had the opportunity to sit in or read a crew or official's review/grading of a game ya'll would be amazed at how many little things go into it. Look at the this way on a pass play if all the o linemen just stood up and watched the pass it would be a disaster...... same for officials.

Most of y'all also have absolutely NO clue how fast the game is now adays - at field level and up close and personal.

Should a player be fired for running the wrong route, dropping a pass, missing a block, a stupid costly penalty.... NO....

3 NFL coaches I have talked to have a very different opine of Vinovich than most of you on this board.

There is no such thing as a "head ref," but I digress

you may want to check with the nfl

LINK

Position

Offensive backfield, right side of the formation, 15 yards deep and behind the normal Tight End position

General Responsibilities

Wears the white cap, known as the crew chief and leader of the officiating crew
Oversees everything related to the officials and maintains the pace of the game
Verbally and visually communicates all fouls
Counts the offensive players on the field
Determines first downs or if a measurement is necessary

crew chief yes even in kiddy ball but head ref denotes being head of all refs on a crew there is only ONE ref

They didn't do anything to Vinovich and crew so I side with her.
:rotflmao: 7 on that crew - that call/no call was ONE officials responsibility - the other 6 ESPECIALLY Vinovich had keys and responsibilities elsewhere.
the white hat's responsibility on a pass play, once the passer sets to throw is the PASSER and nothing else - the other 6 officials on that crew all have their area of focus and keys - as has been said many times since that play.

only 1 official had that call.

Not staying with your keys and area you are supposed to be looking at will get you hosed faster any bad, blown or no call that and a lack of hustle.

It's amusing that one of her complaints was that her referee raised his voice to her and was dismissive.

Good thing I am the only one who records what I say before, during and after games...... :rotflmao:

o2o crackled sharply with "why are you walking on my field"

He didn’t fully walk for about a couple of weeks. He said it immediately felt like his foot and ankle was on fire and couldn’t walk
very common pain signal
8 including me(bitten by a baby cotton mouth when i was 10 - dry bite)

5 of the 8 deserved it.....

1 was a texan i was guiding on a goose hunt that well thought mocassins in decoy bags played as fairly as rattlers...... he got bit twice.

1 was a guy playing golf with me on a FL Navy base that didn't realize the "reach" and Eastern Diamond back had when he pocked it with his putter.

1 a guy that cut the head off of a copperhead with a shovel - then picked up the head - reflex bite - major venom

1 a dumbass that thought if a canebreak was not rattling he wasn't pissed.

1.that thought a snake couldn't strikc because it was 36 degrees...

the guy that cut the head off of the copperhead was my fault.. he texted me a pic of the snake and asked if was poisonous ....

my reply.... NO it's NOT POISONOUS............

but it's venomous...... I still feel bad about that...

I caught a coral snake at money hill campground in 1974 as a 9 year old and kept it in aquarium at my house for 10-12 days - thinking it was a scarlet king snake....... at least 10 of my friends handled it during that time and it was always docile..... I did get concerned when we fed it a lizard and it died right after getting bit....

That’s fair, and depth absolutely favors the bigger schools. But size alone doesn’t tell the whole story.

U-High has shown for years that it can play with those programs. Just look at their results v Catholic High in recent years.
Playing 1 or 2 of those a year is not the same as a full district schedule or playoffs like that.

And, in schools that should be in the league but choose not to be:

23. Archbishop Shaw
no chose not to play up, still rebuilding enrollment.
Actually his greatest speech was at the Stark Memorial and it's not even close.

Has any other ref been fired for under performance?

They all should be fired.
ALL?

It happens all the time at all levels.

More so about bad mechanics and rules interpretations that missing or blown calls....

how many plays in a game - How many calls do coaches miss in a game or plays where a player messes up?

Nobody has ever played , coached, officiated, scouted, fanned or parent a perfect game.... ever.

Happens all the time. There's no union protecting them.
At all levels.

Solid company.

Don’t know what he’ll be doing but Not many people leave after getting hired there.
Cousin worked there first job out of college in 93 and is still there.
Someone that should not have been walking freely among us, for earlier crimes committed.
I won't list mine because the people that know me, but don't know my screen name will certainly know me.....

But... a future NBA player, 2 LSU LBs and RB that played in NFL

while I was in school... a wrestler, a volleyball player(who was very hot), a future NFL DB

I went to 3 different schools because of family saga so it would be real easy to pinpoint me.

Jesuit guys - the answer is Pat Screen

HC - Butch Duhe

Shaw guys- don't leave out the Shaw grad that was an integral part of the LSU program but not a player but....... Truck Stop.

bro mart - Ken Bordelon / Raion Hill

DLS - Sammy Martin - left me standing still

Rummel - I'll go w Jamar... or the guy that attended LSU for a bit and I ran into in the Navy........ an absolute freak of nature.

St Aug...... Man that's a toss up

Great thread.... also loved seeing Trey Prather's name in this.

I have to nominate from Rummel (my brother school) since I went to all girls Catholic school.
