re: Arkansas about to make a big hire?

8-10 would be great for LSU at this point too.
LSU has won 8+ games in 23 of 25 seasons.
Arky has was 8+ games in 9 of 25 seasons.
Totally the same thing though.

Oddly something that would apply to spoon carriers assaulting hammer carriers.
Also applies to Bama fans defending a former player for throwing a punch because “the other guy totally hit him first”.
You guys are a sad bunch.

Is that enforceable? Do we really think Ed O has been making “good faith efforts” to find employment since 2021?
That wasn’t a part of Orgeron’s contract. He got the buyout no matter what.

read 113 from a Florida poster. Seems insane but I think its going to be insane.
It definitely seems like Kiffin is about to reset the market
quote:
I think that’s fair.
Honestly, I wish LsU would come up with a similar contract instead of just 10 years with X guaranteed. That rolling extension setup is nice for Ole Miss.
What hurts is how low his buyout is if he decides to leave. Everything I see says it’s less than $4 mil
quote:
What does that have to do with the 4 year contract? That specifically isn’t a hindrance. And we have boosters who will pony up to pay the man, especially if we continue winning.
LSU and Florida are probably coming with 10+ years. I don’t think OM matches that, but a pay raise with the current rolling extension setup may be enough to keep him.
No one knows what Lane wants except for him and his agent.

It only goes into January if Ole Miss makes playoffs AND wins 1st round game. Otherwise it will be over before Christmas if he is the guy.
They can’t wait that long either. Whether it’s announced or not they need a signed contract by Thanksgiving. If not, LSU and Florida will have to move on.
If all 3 think they have Lane going into Christmas, then two of them are going to be royally fricked.

Ole Miss doesn’t have the stroke to sustain an offer of $15-$18MM for 3 years
There is a lot of money flowing in to Ole Miss right now. Their biggest hindrance is the state law that doesn’t allow more than a 4 year contract.
quote:
Yeah, I mean we will see how it goes, I wouldn't be majorly confident if I was Ole Miss, but apparently they are so something's got them confident.
Unless they miss the playoffs they are in the catbird seat.
LSU and Florida cannot realistically wait until January to hire someone.
quote:
If LSU and Florida get into a bidding war (they are/will be), there's a very remote possibility he stays at Ole Miss, IMO. He can say money doesn't matter all he wants, but when a 15-18M (who knows how far it goes) offer shows up on your desk, things change.
Ole Miss is going to be right there with them.
quote:
Just sharing what I read, man.
I’m referring to the Ole Miss guy acting like that’s some revelation.
Ole Miss fans should be very worried about Lane getting poached. To keep him they’re going to have to make him the highest paid coach in CFB.
I think saying “LSU and UF are going hard after Kiffin” is about as low hanging fruit as it gets.
No fricking shite they are.
No fricking shite they are.

Kind of a silly little game you’re playing. A push to the facemask and a haymaker to the side of the head? Come on man
I’m sure Payne being a former Bama player has nothing to do with it.

Was the father not at Kyren’s funeral where BK spoke?
Maybe the father is full of shite
I could be wrong, but I feel like I read the father wasn’t all that involved until Lacy was in college.

I asked a pretty simple question - where has a spokesperson for LSU said anything that contradicts the idea that BK was terminated on 10/26?
Kelly has filed suit. No one from LSU is going to say anything right now.
quote:
LSU has apparently made settlement offers. Why would they do that if they were trying to terminate for cause?
Terminating for cause is messy and will get dragged out in court for several years. A settlement is clean.
quote:
It’s actually in LSU’s best interests monetarily to come to a professional and viable settlement in this matter. The implications of how this is handled can have long term significance.
The only way they’re getting a reasonable settlement is if they can convince Kelly they have a standing to fire with cause.
Have you not seen the reports that he wants $43 mil, or more, to settle. That doesn’t make sense for LSU.
In that case, they will just pay the full amount over 6 years.
quote:
I’ll say this again - if lsu had a valid case for cause, they would have instituted it when it became grounds for termination. Any other path they take is a minefield.
This is exactly what Kelly is claiming they’re doing.

Again, don’t be dumb.
