Parisians should be proud. After Opening Ceremony, city has been an elite Olympic Host.

I really thought Paris did a great job with this year's Olympics.
While some controversies with the Opening Ceremony and Seine River, I thought when it came down to logistics and execution that this was a great Summer Olympics.
Highlights:
- Crowds were OUTSTANDING. In so many of the less popular sports, you really had to look hard to find batches of empty seats. It was an easy destination for tourists to get to and locals came out and supported all events.
- Creative venues. Versailles Equestrian and Beach Volleyball in front of the Eiffel Tower. Well done.
- Punctuality. It seems like every event on the Olympics schedule started right on time (minus some early Tennis with rain issues).
What was you opinion on how Paris did as a host for the Games?

Well we'll see in about 12 hours what the final verdict is. They have the chance to atone for Thomas Jolly's pathetic opening ceremony. If they/he does that, I can look past the opening and say these were the best Olympics since London. I think they thought outside the box. If you didn't tune out after the "Last Supper" controversy you saw them use a lot of iconic venues in unique ways.
A few of my favorite places by sport... Fencing for where it was held. Beach Volleyball (the Olympic's party sport) in front of the Eiffel Tower was perfect. Though disgusting, using the Seine for distance swimming and triathlon is something those Olympians will be telling their grandkids about.
The competition (aside from the current gymnastics controversy) was allowed to breathe without controversy and that is a HUGE part of any highly successful games. I do think they get a big ding for taking "green" way too far with the lack of A/C in the cramped cardboard filled Olympic Village. For this reason they are a "great" but not "elite" host.
I've recorded every minute of NBC coverage and USA's live coverage onto my multimedia server. I have EVERY single broadcast on the other channels recorded on my FUBO DVR. I look forward to going back to watch events I only saw brief glimpses of. Equestrian at Versailles is provably going to be one of the first. The entire fencing tournament as well. It's not the same as watching it live (without the social component from this board) but it'll prolong the Olympics for me. (I've tried to watch the paraolympics before and it's just not the same.)
I can't wait to see LA's presentation this afternoon! We should've had THE Chicago 16 Olympics between Atlanta 96 and LA28. 32 years is way too long.

I was worried there would be some security issues but Paris did a pretty good job aside from the things most people have mentioned.

But you didn't have to sleep on a cardboard bed.

Dang, dude, you're really into it, thanks for the analysis.
I'm a 'last few nights' kind of guy so not as deeply immersed but I will say the level of competition is intense.

LA doesn’t get it in 28 if Chicago hosts in 2016.

Definitely agree it Has been a great Olympics like you said the only downfall was the opening ceremonies hopefully the closing ceremonies will not do the same thing and it won't have been a spectacular Olympics even with us losing to China in the gold medal race still track and field we were dominant so I will take it

I think it’s been spectacular. The fans have came out in every event I’ve watched, even some of the smaller ones -15k showed up for mountain biking!!- 70k for rugby 7’s!! The scenery has been outstanding as well.
I also never watch the opening/closing ceremonies so I don’t care about that.

They did great, but it is so helpful having fans back for the games. I feel like it made Tokyo a complete downer with everyone in empty stadiums.

I thought the Parisian did a fantastic job.
And probably not just the Parisian - Central Europe is probably the ideal location for an Olympics because of the ease of world wise access for fans
Crowds were massive, enthusiastic - I know the French athletes were soaking up the roars ..as should be the benefit for hosting
The venues were excellent ..just apparently find a new body of water for triathlon and provide AC
9.90

This review is on point. I agree 100%.
Worst Opening Ceremony ever.
The venues and competition have been exciting and well run. The French should be proud. Paris has been a wonderful showcase city.

It really was fantastic. No matter what, there will be some aspects that L.A. simply won't be able to replicate due to how many iconic sights and venues Paris has.

Not gonna lie, I was expecting a terrorist event.

Peacock has replays of basically all the sporting events. I hope the content stays up for a while. There's a lot of stuff I'd love to go back and watch.

They were valuable in that 92% of Americans were 100% convinced some guy had his balls hanging out. When it was plainly shown that they were wrong, only 2.4% of them admitted to leaping to an incorrect conclusion. It was a grand social experiment.

Great job.
I was there in April and you could see the preparations taking place, front iconic buildings being spruced up to stadium stands being built in public squares.
It is a beautiful city.
