Shawshank Redemption used to come on like every day on TBS for a while; meanwhile, I dont think I have ever seen Jurassic Park on cable.

When did society become more obsessed with appearing to do the right thing than actually doing what works? We celebrate statements, campaigns, policies, and gestures that look good on the surface, but how often do we stop and ask whether they actually improve anything? At some point, it feels like good optics became more valuable than good outcomes.

Maybe symbolic actions matter, but should they still be praised when the results don’t match the message? And if questioning whether something works is treated as being against the cause itself, how are we supposed to separate real progress from performative progress? I’m curious where people draw that line.

I have to agree with this question. Did we or did we not do this? And who exactly are we getting the info from that they were close to a nuclear weapon? The same "weapons of mass destruction" in Iraq group?

Ok...so we bombed their nuclear facilities and set them back a few years. That stops the whole two weeks away thing. Why are we still there??????

Man, I dont think you can blame the media. I voted for Trump 3 tiimes. I can also see what's happening in the world. I still admit he is much better than Kamala ever would have been.

We gave Republicans the House, the Senate, and the presidency, and what exactly have we gotten out of it? A war with Iran, $6 diesel, and a Congress that’s about to take a month-and-a-half recess.

At some point, just being “not the other guys” isn’t enough. If people keep voting a party in and that party never really delivers anything, eventually that catches up with them. That’s a recipe for disaster and nothing ever being accomplished.
