You can demand free medical care come to your house from LSU med school staff and then pretend that didn’t happen whenever the news asks why you did that.
Not a first timer…

Honestly shocked nobody fired a gun

Years ago I read how this was actually done in Texas. There are a couple of counies ran by one large Ranch. I think the Wagoneer and the King ranchs are entire counties as well.

King Ranch is 90% of Kleberg county and Kenedy ranch, just south, is 95+% of Kenedy County
Except they are trying to dump brine from the desalination plant into Baffin Bay, one of the best fishing environments in the world, and will ruin it because they’re too lazy/cheap to pump it out to the ocean
Tough to put that level of effort into scheduling huge out of state games to have that kinda of shat the bed level of officiating.

On one level, great experience for all the kids until the whole game gets completely turned on its head due to two huge missed calls.
Catholic getting screwed in an incredible way. Two obvious missed fumble calls. I don’t like CHS announcers but this was out of control and they are correct to be going as crazy as they are right now. We have an officiating crisis. Expecting way too much of these kids for the level of officiating they receive.

That is a massive improvement by Southern.
Improvement or DEI adjustment?

A little bit of both. They were fighting an accreditation issue due to a low pass rate so massive resources went to bar prep. Should have been happening before but glad they fixed it and stopped creating as many unemployable bankrupts.

LSU's pass rate rivals top schools in the county and at that price, with most getting at least half scholarship, is very impressive.
There are big firms paying a little more than $150k in baton rouge. Even more in Nola. Average is probably right around $100k for baton rouge. About 7-8 big firms in the $120+ range that pull up the numbers though.

Starting Big Law salary is $220+... just don't have that here in Louisiana.
Truly it can be boiled down pretty simply.

Pro for jury trials: you only have to convince one person out of 12.

So from there, you need to have a really good reason why it’s easier to convince one judge than to convince 1/12 barely literate EBR registered voters.

Potential reasons are:
-Publicity
-Emotion
-Complex legal issues
-Bad client, bad appearance, demeanor, unlikable
-You’re a black guy with face tats in a suburban parish
-you’re a white guy accused of a racially involved crime in an urban parish

So you have to have a good reason why. For Carver it’s simple. He was alleged to have been sitting in a car and/or driving during a rape in the back seat. I don’t do criminal law enough to know if that’s a crime but it definitely sounds like a terrible thing to do. So I get why he wants a purely legal view, because no matter what, it’s a terrible thing to do morally.
That belongs to, and bears the picture of a man named Olanza Sanders, with a Facebook account named “Olanza BabySavage Sanders.”

Seems like they're trying to create a loophole.

There’s no loop hole being created here. The injuring happened on the premises, just because it was outside the door does not matter. Dram shop immunity applies once the injured party leaves the premises. In this case Fred’s parking lot is still Fred’s premises.

Now, did they allege sufficient acts for negligence— I don’t think so. My guess is this gets dismissed on summary judgment because there’s a lot of video of it so the facts will be difficult to dispute.

Congrats on losing attorney-client privilege via o-t lounge. Not the first, not the last, but probably the dumbest.

Give fifteen grand to every married couple who has a baby. And then give the parents a large tax credit against income taxes every year until the kid reaches 18.

A lot of people who should have less kids will then get a paper from the courthouse that says they are married and begin having more kids.

I fear you can't really stop people who shouldn't have kids from having them, but you can at least help middle class people by providing a non-refundable tax credit for the first 2 children or something. No taxes the year you have the kid. People could wipe out some debt, refinance mortgage, etc and be better situated to raise the kid effectively.

have zero knowledge of the Diversion. Can anyone who knows more tell me if Nungesser is correct that the Diversion would basically destroying Barataria Bay, and that there are solutions - barrier islands, ridges and berms - that are ready to roll right now?

I view barataria bay like a salt water fish tank in my house. If we didn’t do a bunch of shite to allow salt water fish to live there, there wouldn’t be any f****** salt water fish living there. I am so sick of this “but muh dolphin” and “but oysters.”

We continue to lose coastline, for example, in southwest Louisiana rice farms are increasingly intruded by saltwater. It doesn’t take a scientist to realize we have a problem. But if we can’t stomach the thought of turning the environment back to fresh water, every few years when erosion makes a new salt water environment, we will never stop erosion.

Another money grabbing, family wrecking, satan....who has drinks with your wife's lawyer after billing you 400.00 an hour day after day...they are all in cahoots to keep you fighting with your ex and to kerp it going as long as they can... Evil.

Don’t know her, but if she’s a bad lawyer that’s fine. But lawyers are allowed to get drinks with their colleagues. And honestly, you don’t want a lawyer so wrapped up in your case that they are as emotionally invested as you. Judges hear emotional pleas all day. You want someone timely and communicative. I would recommend Lorraine McCormick.

Oh look. Attorneys, who charge by the hour, wrote and passed a law mandating they get to charge more hours. Whoopsie Daisy!

Not as many attorneys in the leg anymore because they can’t make as much money goofing off in Baton Rouge for 3 months a year plus a special legislative session. Can make much more billing from their offices

The US Constitution and subsequent amendments only apply to the federal and state governments. I’m not sure how this lawsuit holds up unless the plaintiffs have some creative argument that Formosa is a state actor.

The 13th amendment definitely doesn’t only prevent slavery by the government. It is the only civil rights amendment that expressly applies to private citizens.

ETA: this case doesn’t meet any semblance of a 13A violation. But still applies to private individuals/companies
