Colleges will not go extinct, but they will look a lot different. I would argue that four-year universities were never intended for more than 10 to 30% of the population. That’s not a class issue, we just don’t need everyone to have a four year advanced general education. Most people would be better off going into blue collar trades or starting white collar apprenticeships after high school.
My son is 14 months old. I fully expect that he will not have the four-year college experience that I had. Even I’m on my friends with older kids, college appears to be much different already.
I could even see specialized career focused programs or vocational programs attached to current four year universities like LSU. Have kids come in for a couple of years and use that college experience to mature while getting a shorter more focused training.

Oh… There were people talking about peak oil into the mid 2000s, well after the start of the shale revolution.

Cant wait to hear about how racist the city is for its roots to country music! Im sure there will be plenty of folks feeling “unsafe” because of lyrics to an old song or 2. Nevermind the horrible and threatening language in rap music but they arent ready for that conversation!
If you go looking for that story, I guess you’ll find it.

I remember my uncle taking us to Pizza Hut and ordering a pitcher of beer while we played Street Fighter. Great times.

I’m assuming that this is an ESPP similar to what my wife has. I believe the cap is $24,000 a year.
We purchase the maximum amount she’s allowed to which is $6000 per quarter. She’s required to hold for at least one year. We sell all of the shares as soon as they vest (FIFO). We bank the profits and we reinvest. It’s like a conveyor belt.
Her company is very profitable and their stock prices up probably 60% over the last 3 to 5 years. So the purchase makes sense to begin with. However, she also receives RSUs as part of her bonus, and I don’t want our portfolio over exposed to her company. We bake the profits and move on.
ETA: we are also maxing out her 401(k) to the federal cap.

I’m not buying $7mm. That’s more than we are paying anyone on the football roster. More than we are paying Sam Levitt.
I could see $3mm.

If you want to hate Massie for his politics that’s fine, but you can’t possibly support Donald Trump while complaining about these actions.

I originally downvoted but quickly revised.
I hope they televise the next trial if it goes that far. Somehow, I can’t get enough of watching this sicko. He creeps me out, but I can’t look away.

I know that tackle considered is a more valuable position than running back, but if we’re paying Weston Davis more than Harlem Berry, my mind is blown.

I played golf with a guy from New Jersey last week who has never been to Baton Rouge and happens to be going to this game. I told him that he might be in for a real one.
Am I just getting older or does it feel like society is collapsing?

I’m 42 now, which probably qualifies as old to everyone younger than me. I feel like when I was a kid things generally operated efficiently and now they are falling apart. People weren’t necessarily religious, but they seem to generally have a moral standard.
Politically, my dad thought that Bill Clinton was the antichrist. In retrospect, most of his policies would make him borderline far right. Think about the crime bill. The biggest issue we had back, then was that he got a blowjob from an intern. Which seemed terrible at the time, but compared to the scandals of politicians today seems mild. We actually had a balanced budget once in the 90s. Nw politics seems like a partisan gap that will never be bridged. The actual. political positions of the individual parties seem completely
incoherent.
We have a bifurcating economy with 10% of the country headed in the one direction, and most of the rest headed in another direction. We’ve got young men without any money paying to see naked women on OnlyFans because they aren’t having actual sex with their own. Then we’ve got young men pissing away their money on sports gambling and prediction markets. We have young women who see their only way to a future as becoming an influencer and/or an online porn star. Most of them aren’t headed toward homeownership or establishing a family.
I’m not even going to get into the fatigue, fatigue culture, or the fact that fatigue culture seems to be infecting the rest of the society.
I know… CSB. But it almost seems depressing to me.

Am I excited about Kiffin. Absolutely. Strikes me as a little bit early to start making comparisons to peak Tiger Woods in intimidation. He’s a first year head coach off a program that finishes just above 500 last season. Tiger Woods in his prime had won double digit majors.

So they’re not going to go to, Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, or Florida.
