That was such a dumb comparison. It’s the height of overrating after one game.
That 2019 LSU team had multiple players with NFL Hall of Fame potential. Just asinine to compare them to a team with four wins in Sept.

I’m not convinced that anyone in the SEC is much better than LSU.

That’s not to say that LSU is going undefeated the rest of the year. I just don’t think there’s any team they can’t beat on any given day. There is a ton of parity.
We play State, Texas and Alabama at home. I thought Tennessee on the road might be the biggest test. However, Tennessee is currently pissing around at home with a very mediocre Auburn team. I would be very disappointed if we lost to Kentucky or Auburn.
The door is open if the Tigers can make it through October and get a few players back.
If I was really pressed for an unbiased opinion, I think I would write LSU third behind Alabama and Georgia based on what I’ve seen so far. I don’t think Texas is going to be able to move the ball on us, especially in Tiger Staduim.

That 2019 defense doesn’t get enough love.
I never liked Danielson.
Verne got tough toward the end because he couldn’t see anymore.
I wish Todd Blackledge had replaced Danielson when they hired Brad Nessler.

I would say he’s the best freshman defensive lineman I have seen since Glenn Dorsey, but he’s off to a better start than Dorsey.

If we get through October unscathed, I would give us a 60% chance of making the playoff.
I think we get a split of Alabama and Texas at home. It’s not inconceivable that we could win both of them. Again… They are at home.
That trip to Knoxville is a real wildcard.

He ate the guard and center and pushed them back. The back had to change direction and we had two people to plug the hole.

I have friends that are FSU boosters. They don’t have the money to compete right now. That would be full step down for him even if they paid him.

He wants to run. Let him run. I think getting tackled a few times might settle him down and help him get into a better rhythm in the passing game.

I think the solution to spears being out is that we are going to play a true three safety look. Benfield, Thomas, and Cooley. You could also see CJ coming in at times, but he has more the linebacker build.
The more film studies I watch online, the less frustrated I am with Baker.

Sounds like Kiffin pushed him to play soft to start the game. That was probably a mistake as we seem to have more success bringing pressure in the second half.
Even with the soft zone, I would challenge any other quarterback in the country to make those throws consistently. When Chambliss sees a hole in the zone, he rips the ball accurately and on time. Not many college QBs can do that.
LSU wasn’t perfect by any means, but they weren’t bad on the whole. There were individual ugly plays, and Ole Miss took advantage.
Hopefully we play more aggressive going forward and try to dictate the tempo of the opponents rather than sitting back.

If he is what you’ve got, and you think he’s your best option, don’t try to fit a square pack into a round hole.
Two weeks in a row we’ve come out with a bad game plan on offense. Lean on the running game and that includes Jones as well as Leavitt. Lots of RPO game. Basically we become a triple option team at our core and build off of that.
If we possess the ball, I think our defense is good enough to win enough games for us to make the playoffs.
If you can’t alter your offense, then he’s just not your guy and you need to move on.
