Tesla is about to explode when people experience FSD for the first time.

14.3 is wildly good

Don’t care about the content of the chart, just from the perspective of someone who presents data this chart and color combo is complete arse

I love chilling on the interstate in traffic. Letting the tesla do the driving. Million times safer, too

I'm buying Tesla next for FSD. The test drive exceeded high expectations. I'd get it today but have a teen driver with permit and probably gonna wait a year or 2 then pass him down my current car.

Very true. The future is actually here now. People's minds are blown when they experience it.

Estimates of EV sales by total car sales.

Everyone underestimated the growth of EVs for a decade then everyone overestimated growth.

It is like playing the stock market trying to figure out consumer habits and market influence.

This. How bad do you think people want to drive and be on their phone at the same time?

Yearly estimates of percentage of autos that would be EVs.

in 2023 it was predicted that 53% of vehicles would be EV in 2030.

Now it’s 15%. Sad trombone noises

EV charging infrastructure is still lagging behind. On the other hand, sales of hybrid vehicles continue to shoot up. In the next decade plus, it wouldn’t surprise me to see a lot of households gravitating towards having one EV for local driving and one hybrid for interstate driving.

I agree with this. Hybrids offer the best and worst of both worlds.

EVs service 90% of household needs but have a stigma that will be hard to overcome. A generational change will continue to happen and the next generation is far more open to an EV for transportation.

This is a huge part of it for me. Power outages, locating charging ports, grid issues, storms, etc. make me hesitant to get one. Conceptually, I love the electric car. I think I’ll get one eventually but need to feel a little more confident in the whole ordeal.

Range and charging times still need to get better before you see widescale adoption. It will happen at some point.

Is this that common of a problem where you are at? I bitch about Entergy and lost power for about 6 hours a year that is not storm related.

For a hurricane you just need about 75 miles of charge to get you on one side or the other of the damage path. It is certainly an anxiety situation though.

FSD is so wildly amazing, Tesla could only sell a car that looks like a huge dildo driving down the road and I’d probably still buy it just to use the FSD

Fun fact - most Tesla models are more American made than your full size
