SEC-LSU Court Hearing Postponed As Both Sides Work To De-Escalate

The federal court hearing between the SEC and LSU scheduled for Wednesday has been continued and will be heard at a later date as tensions between the two sides appear to be cooling.

According to ESPN's Pete Thamel, the situation has "generally de-escalated" following LSU's decision to finalize its 105-man roster without former NFL players Dae'Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris. LSU filled its final two roster spots with Gabriel Reliford and Aidan Anding, effectively ending the possibility of adding Wright and Harris this season.

Court documents confirmed Wednesday's hearing has been continued and that a new date will be set in a separate order.

Yahoo Sports' Ross Dellenger added that LSU President Wade Rousse and SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey have recently held positive conversations as LSU works to de-escalate the situation.

The hearing had originally been scheduled for Wednesday afternoon in Birmingham, Alabama, as part of the SEC's federal lawsuit against LSU.

While legal issues between the two sides remain unresolved, Wednesday's developments appear to represent a significant cooling of what had become an increasingly contentious battle between LSU and the conference.
