You mean wasted. Will very likely do NOTHING for his future and career. Travel ball play is a dime a dozen. Every weekend is some World Series and ring for every freaking team out there.

I assume OP is a troll. If he has to pay $15K for his kid to enjoy baseball, then it’s already a waste. He either likes the sport or he doesn’t. But notice, he said it was worth it because of the D1 looks. It was never about the kid having fun, it’s about social media clout.

Fact is, the best of the best will be discovered regardless of travel ball. Braxtynn might be a stud on the Bayou Bengal Beasts. He may have a case full of rings. When the rubber meets the road, talent rises to the top. It’s the same reason why Latinos can be kickass at the professional level despite using hand me down equipment and a milk carton for a glove. Those kids are slowly making their way to American colleges too. Travel ball has peaked I think. The game is too global for suburban moms to be buying their kid a scholly.

IDK it’s expensive but seeing my kid happy and coaches say he has D1 potential makes it worth it.

There’s hundreds of D1 schools. There’s a big difference between SEC ball and Maryland-Eastern Shore. Is the goal to get him a D1 scholarship, or make the majors? Would you rather him get a partial scholly to play at North Alabama, or a full ride for academics to a nice, bigger university?

About 2% of HS ballplayers make D1. And with the portal, he better be on top of his shite at the D1 level, or some stud from a smaller school will essentially take his place.

He needs to be the best player on his travel ball team, and the best player on his HS team. Otherwise, he can enjoy raking the dirt and manicuring the field at some NAIA joint.

Too many pitches too young, and max effort when you’re out there. Look at velocity, it’s not that the human body has changed in 20 years, it’s the even starters now are throwing max effort. Kids should go back to playing more sports, not 70 games at 9 years old

Nailed it.

Great starters used to find ways to try to get through 9 innings. That meant you weren’t throwing max velocity all the time. Today’s pitchers go all out because they know they’re only asked to go 4-6 innings. They’ve essentially dumbed things down.

Also, pitchers and ballplayers of yesteryear would play football, basketball, run track, etc. Now, if you want Braxtynn to go D1, he’s throwing year round. And travel ball coaches know the importance of winning those rings, so they don’t give a shite about a pitch count. These pitchers aren’t even taught to “pitch”, they’re taught to throw by Brookslynn’s dad who works in finance.

The culture of youth baseball is absolute dog shite. Travel ball does more bad than good IMO, and I think it’s no coincidence that arm issues have gone up along with the popularity of travel ball.

but I can’t imagine myself actually enjoying any crawfish cooked in Nebraska.

I mean, anybody can follow a recipe. If you research and pay for the correct ingredients and some good crawfish, proper equipment, etc…I don’t think it matters where someone is from regarding their ability to cook.

That said, I think this is done by LA folks.

All North (shout out North Side) and South bound interstates are odd numbers. And all East and West bound interstates are even numbers.

The large east/west interstates end in 0 and go up in number as they go north. I-10 generally runs along the bottom portion of the US, I-90 near the top.

The large north/south interstates end in 5 and go up in number as they go east. I-5 goes up the west coast, I-95 the east coast.

Not that anyone has tried, must be tough in Tesla. I would imagine you needing a recharge station in the middle of the barren wasteland of West Texas.

You’d be surprised. I was in Fort Stockton a few years back and pulled into a gas station. It had about half a dozen charging stations lined up.
Gotcha. I did some reading, and Skaggs does admit that he was taking drugs from Miley. It seems that he would know it was heavy stuff.

I don’t know. This just reeks of the parents refusal to admit that their kid was hooked on bad shite and drinking to excess while using. It’s sad what happened, but Skaggs did this to himself.
Nailed it.

I think any great player from yesteryear would do just fine in today’s game with modern technology and training.

I'm surprisingly content with whatever happens. Sat could go either way.

This is where I’m at. I don’t get too nervous anymore. I kinda wish I did. I like that feeling. Maybe 2023 softened me up a bit. I guess it’s easy for me to see how Arky COULD win? Seems like a toss up game.
Good read. I like the light-hearted takes about nervous energy that fans have. I HOPE I get to feel that way. It means our Tigers are playing for the prize.

Turns out the pills were fakes, and contained Fentanyl.

Wait…are you suggesting the trainer knew they contained fentanyl and the players didn’t? Or are you suggesting the trainer was duped into getting bad street drugs?

Where else they gonna go after mowing and edging?

Swept up in a garbage bag? Blown into the yard? Even I take enough pride in my shitty yard to not leave my crap in the street. I don’t need that going into the nearest storm drain. You probably throw your used cig butts on the ground too.
I used to be that way, but I’ve found myself used to watching the CWS while summer vacationing and whatnot. I watched the 2023 title in a Philadelphia air bnb. Last CWS game I missed and had to watch on a phone was 2015.
I googled and found some stuff, but it’s outdated info. I’ll be driving up next Tuesday. I’m looking for a place in the event our Tigers win a couple. If I get really ballsy, and LSU is rolling, I might just drive east the 8 hours, but I’m also OT poor.

So anyway…any good places up there in CS or Denver?
Creighton was the team Wichita beat to get to the title game.

I never knew it as BERNstein. I think that just happened because Bernstein sounds like a typical Jewish name or something, and “Beren” isn’t common.
Pretty sure their stadium has been updated. More recent pics have a blue wall and a more modern scoreboard.
A lot of good takes in here…

I saw the video and it seemed like the CEO was fine with everything, abiding by the letter of the law in terms of handling the raid. That said, as a South Texan I can’t just spot illegals since the Hispanic population is so large down here.

After reading some of the comments from our posters near the action, you would assume this CEO is just playing dumb. But if he followed the legal procedure and the workers came up clean, can you still hold his feet to the fire in court?
Bruh, the general public working class doesn’t have the time to do the job of good union leaders while still working their 9-5. You can’t just read some tweets and go protest with a sign.

I have hated Lee Corso with a passion since he made a complete idiot of himself on The Ticket with Bob & Dan about 15 years ago with his arrogance & never understood why he was so loved even when he was healthy on Gameday.

You “hate” someone “with a passion” because of a segment they did on some two-bit radio show? The same show where they did the “gay or not gay” shtick?

I listened to the clip. Sounded like the host made a joke that wasn’t even funny. His guest took offense. The host could have apologized and moved on, but instead tries to explain to Lee why the joke shouldn’t be offensive.

Because of that…you hate Corso? Lee suggests that he wouldn’t pose nude for a magazine, saying it’s against his values, and a joke about it was offensive. He didn’t wanna wrestle in the mud with the host…and you hate him for it.
