re: Your Honest Thoughts On Strip Clubs

Telling a guy from Orlando to go to Boys Town in Nuevo Laredo is some of the dumbest advice you can give. I’ve crossed over from Laredo a handful of times. It’s extremely dangerous, especially to an outsider. It might be the most dangerous crossing in the state. Trusting a cab driver to get you to Boys Town isn’t smart. You’ll be sexing up trafficked women, paying for alcohol that may or may not be tainted, and once you walk out, all bets are off as to your safety.
I’m sure he can find some fine Latinas in Tampa.

You’ve got the prices down, a solid plan, know your prospects…you’ve done some research on this. Almost seems like you’ve put pen to paper and come up with a t chart.

Yes, but my point still stands. That’s not exactly a rivalry weekend type of game.

I’ve had my fill of the NFL. I saw the traditional Lions and Cowboys games. Night time should be reserved for Texas-TAMU, or the Egg Bowl. This sucks…

Expensive prices, secondary markets, everyone playing in a sterile dome because the owners want to try to host one Super Bowl and a Final 4 before they build another venue. Yeah…I have no desire to spend an arm and a leg to attend a game.

True. My other question:
Did he lose $80,000?
Or did the game cause his parlay to not hit, and just cost him the opportunity to win $80,000?

He was so loyal, and attached to me at the hip. I didn’t realize that everything I did at home had to account for him. He’d find a way to get as close to me as possible while I ate. Hopped in the bed whenever he wanted. Had to sit next to me on the couch. Everything.

He went downhill fast over the last 48 hours. Turns out, it was organ failure. He gave me 12 years of love. He was a pitbull mix with lab (I think). I know some on here might celebrate him being gone because of that.
He was a stray by my old place of work, and I finally decided to take him home. He quickly became my shadow. He’d follow me everywhere and thought he was a lap dog. When I brought another pup into the fold, he had a new best friend. He helped me through the toughest time in my life, and it’s almost like he wanted to hold on long enough to know that I was going to be ok. He tried to be best friends with everyone, except the exterminator and some possums.
I’ve had a handful of dogs in my life, but this guy was by far the most loyal I have ever had. The world lost a great dog today.

Unless it’s affecting the performance of the truck, just keep a 5 qt jug of oil in your truck and roll with it. I have a 20 year old truck that burns oil about that much. Almost 200K miles. Doesn’t affect performance. Been that way now for at least 50K miles. You certainly don’t want to incur a big expense just because it burns some oil and that’s it. That’s my fix if there are no performance issues. No fix. Keep oil in your truck with a cheap funnel and paper towels. Monitor 1x per week. Don’t let perfection be the enemy of the good. Yeah it burns oil. frick it. It runs fine. Check your oil 1x per week to monitor for increase in usage or changes to color. For example: milky
If this is your “professional” advice. Thanks. This is also what some google searches came up with. My quest isn’t for a truck with 175,000 to be perfect, I need to make sure it’s reliable for drives of any length. That’s why I took it in. I need to make sure that continuing to drive it as such doesn’t make the problem worse…and even more costly down the road.

Oil is changed every 5,000. It burns about 4-4.5 every 5,000. Compression is fine. No puddles under where I park.

Keep it from burning oil for me. My friend is a certified mechanic at a nearby shop and has run the diagnostic for me. There’s no leak. If it’s the piston rings, I’ll need a new engine.

This is the point. You are wanting to hear one singular answer. I have a spreadsheet and I use it to budget literally every dollar I spend. I don’t budget the cents, I simply round up what I spend to the nearest dollar. I always round up.
Yes, maybe the $5 I spent at the used bookstore on a DVD could be saved. Maybe I didn’t really need that soda when I got gas. The $20 a month I piss away on that isn’t the difference between the generational wealth my parents built and where I am currently sitting.
You incorrectly assumed I wanted a new truck. Hell no. I don’t splurge on bigger TVs. I’m not a gamer, so I don’t need the PS5, new monitor, fancy gaming chair. I already told you I don’t eat out much at all.
Life is tough, and I’m doing my best to manage and try to find a way to get ahead while still being able to maintain a lifestyle that won’t have me going crazy.
I have zero credit card debt. No vehicle payment. Only debt is the mortgage I pay.
You’re a smart guy, deduce from that information what you want…

Oh it’s my delivery and saying truths you don’t want to hear.
Nothing to do with your delivery and everything to do with your inability to “listen”. You ignored what I said and are waiting to hear one singular answer that validates your beliefs.

About your truck, sounds like you want a new truck and not that you need a new truck. There is a difference when you are trying to build wealth.
You couldn’t be further from the truth. I want to drive this sucker into the ground if it’s financially feasible.

You said something about your parents being well off and more frugal than you? That could be part of your solution, yes?
Yes. If I am more frugal and scrape together another $100 a month, that nets me 1200 a year I could invest. I think their ability to build wealth was predicated more on the ability to buy a 2000 square foot house on a decent side of town for $80,000. And a new midsize truck could be had for $8,000.
