Normally in a bad season in any sport, you look for growth or guys who can take a step into next season. It’s hard to do that when you know the roster can have such a huge turnover, and with a possible coaching change it’s even crazier. Pretty sure we have 1 guy suited up that was on the team last year. There’s not much reason as a fan to evaluate these guys simply because they won’t be here.
Well, when a population migrates, culture goes with. If done right, that culture will assimilate. While it hasn’t gone well with Somalians in Minnesota, it’s been great for Mexicans and Louisiana folks in Texas.

Growing up, crawfish and Louisiana cuisine wasn’t readily available. HEB has all the stuff I’d buy in LA. The crawfish boils aren’t exactly the same, and the spice at restaurants isn’t what I want, it’s getting better. It’s not cultural appropriation when the ones making it a thing are coming from east of the border, right?
Are you suggesting he wasn’t allowed to come back?

Boston College is 10-18…

Great win tonight over Wake Forest. Now that they’ve got 10 W’s, is BC a quality win?

I think this would be something everyone is on board with. We have pace makers, ports, plates, rods, etc in people’s bodies. Some wires and electric currents would be the least of my worries.

frick. New fear unlocked.
Roller hockey was fun as a kid. The issue was only a few in my neighborhood ever wanted to play.

I will say this, the overlap of the NHL with college baseball and college softball is a huge issue in trying to spend time watching the sport amongst these others speaking from a family that loves baseball/softball in a southern state

I feel this way in general with sports. The older I get, the less time I have to watch games. Honestly, I really only get bothered if I miss LSU football, or baseball (mlb and college). I hate that I’m apathetic about hoops, but between the NCAA and NBA, they don’t care about entertaining a certain sector of the population.
I don’t mind him throwing shade at the athletes that used their platform to talk shite about our country…you know, the same country that provided said platform. Did the women’s hockey team do that? If not, no reason for any joke.
It has nothing to do with the rules. It’s just over saturation. When Fall rolls around, you can find football on tv 4 times a week at minimum. I don’t think the average person can devote that much time to watching games, shifting between college and pro.

I tend to agree. The sport is watered down and dealing with a major tanking issue. No fan wants a team to roll in just so they can lose 60+ games a year. The novelty will wear off real fast.

This is the winner. It’s very close to topless, and I don’t mind a bit. If I’m gonna pay bar prices for a beer, nothing wrong with it being served by a thicc Latina in a thong and bra.
The vast majority of Americans are unintelligent, and have zero clue about anything not fed to them via social media or their phone.
I ran across that nugget of info. He agreed to be coach, then backed out citing a recent divorce and desire to stay near his children. Jim Donnan got the job instead. Interesting…

California/Texas

I think they are tapped out. The Texas Triangle is full, 4 teams in Cali. I mean…MAYBE San Diego.

For Florida, I guess Tampa and Jax are on the table, but you’d need arena deals.

Credit to him for not responding right away and keeping his cool.
The answer is simple. Accessibility.

Not many rinks down here, not a lot of others playing, NHL teams didn’t become popular generations ago. We’ve had a minor/junior league here in town for over 20 years, but that arena is also the only place where you can skate, and it has to be in season or after a game.

Hockey and Soccer have blow past all sports but football in terms of enjoyment factor to me.

Football has become such a huge “happening”, and there’s a similarity I see with football and basketball. Most games are decided in the 4th quarter. You could miss 1-3, and still not really miss anything, if that makes sense.

I don’t have that feeling for hockey or baseball.

It also helps that there’s less political BS associated with the latter two. There’s some, but not as much.

These were the same lines the board trotted out regarding Idaho murders and Luigi. These departments aren’t interested in revealing all of their info to Joe Public.

The alcohol industry is just another huge parasite.

Everything is a parasite. Technology is a parasite. Weed and cigarettes. Soft drinks. Fast food. Movies. Casinos. Anything that is entertainment will continue to try to lure you back. Some things are parasitic in that they waste your time, a finite resource.

At this point, it’s about the simple pleasures in life. Some people like beer and bourbon, others will piss away their money on the newest set of golf clubs, the latest iPhone, surround sound, etc.
