Rein was considered:

"One of the most promising young coaches IN FOOTBALL HISTORY"!

To the many Negatigers here who have been all to quick, frequent to disparage our great Institution.

LSU secured Bo Rein. Discovered Nick Saban (considered the Greatest ever). And just held a Master Class, performed & executed a Nationwide Coup in grabbing Lane Kiffen.

LSU is a Multi Sport DYNASTY!

There is NO Place, No Stadium, No Fans that Rival LSU!

LSU is THE #1 Job & #1 Stadium & #1 Opportunity & Environment in Collegiate Sports!

And that's not just a loyal Tiger Fan stating it, but was just confirmed Loud & Clear across All/Every MSM Channel, National Network - Cable TV Broadcast, Radio, Sports Writer/Journalist', Hall of Fame Coaches, Independent Internet Podcasts, etc. etc while announcing, covering 24/7 Lane Kiffen as LSU's new Football Coach!

Geaux Tigers

Many or maybe most here were not yet born when Bo Rein's plane veered then crashed into the Atlantic Ocean. Those that were alive perhaps discounted, never realized or simply forgot just how seismic, significant of an effect his shocking & "untimely" death not only Had on LSU's Football program @ the time, but for decades Would continue to have.

Bo Rein was indeed a WHALE of a Coach & Hire for LSU! And it was not just the sudden, tragic circumstances surrounding his catastrophic death that was so traumatizing to LSU's Athletic Dept & Fan Base, but the truly unfortunate "timing" of when it occurred that left LSU & their Football Program/Team in an insurmountable, disadvantaged position!

Make no mistake.......the tragic, sudden death of Bo Rein who, irrefutably, was Highly Touted, Celebrated, Recognized throughout the College & Professional Football Industry as a Stellar - Supreme Coach & Individual would "haunt" LSU for many years!

I will never forget it.
There are indeed many valid reasons to be excited, optimistic about LSU competing, winning titles again soon! In addition to our #1 new coach, stellar staff & incredible recruits......there is another tremendous advantage, enormously important reason to be ecstatic about. One that no one has mentioned yet but will definitely be returning in 2026!

No other Coach in College Football is as dynamic or exciting as Kiffen. He is Hands Down the #1 Coach. So is U High recruit "Lamar" who is the #1 Player & Athlete in the Nation! But LSU is retaining another #1 spot (which is perhaps greater than any/all of the other assets combined) that we are not only keeping, but that we fricking OWN!

And that is:

TIGER FANS + TIGER STADIUM = InFANtesimally Important!!

In Kiffen's introductory press conference he specifically mentioned LSU Fans & Tiger Stadium being a HUGE Burden and/or Advantage!

Kiffen has experienced it. He Believes & Thinks He Knows just how Powerful that Passion/Emotion/Energy/Noise that is generated by Tiger Fans & comes Pounding Down upon the Players/Coaches on the Field.

But Kiffen really has NO IDEA!! And I believe Lane Kiffen is the precise/exact person, coach that is going to bring, cause & extract that Legendary, Inarguable #1 Stadium Environment in the History of Sporting Events/Competition is the World - Ever!!

IT IS A MASSIVE ADVANTAGE!! AND LSU HAS IT - WE OWN IT!!

Say what you want, believe what you may. But unlike anything, anyone or anywhere else on the Planet......LSU FANS & TIGER STADIUM have many times before, and can at any time/moment in the future......literally & actually CAUSE, CREATE & WILL A WIN!!

Current Vote = 526 Downs to 6 Ups

Biggest Rejection of an OP I've Ever Seen on TD

Bizarre comment has guaranteed Ruined the Dude's Xmas

I have a home on the Emerald Coast & La. I am surrounded by Bama alumni, high level boosters. Am good friends with the Alabama Alumni Assoc. President, and one of Saban's best friends.

My description of Alabama's football program and fans in general is:

"They are like the Jews.....they are God's chosen team"!

Their self-righteousness, deep feelings of entitlement, are deep & ingrained. Bama football is their Religion. While working and meeting/visiting with Biz, Corp owners @ their offices.....many had rooms that were actual Shrines of Bear Bryant! They are very smug, tight-lipped when discussing football with anyone from another school, fan base. You are either In or Out. If a fan of another SEC school or Rival (despite their favorable record vs LSU, they have deep worry/fear every time they face the Tigers! They "respect" LSU....but would never admit or show it)!!

The thing that is deeply troublesome, even dangerous, about Alabama.....is they would do ANYTHING to win, dominate. And I mean anything! And there would be NO moral trepidation, NO pause to break, violate, even eliminate any rule, threat, player or person. And this "Do Anything" is "Automatic & Justified" (Not 2nd, but 1st Natured) because of what seems like a Biblical Level sense of entitlement, duty. If a politician, state official, legal or law official even so much as Blinked @ doing or not doing Anything to advance or favor Alabama Football......THEY WOULD BE REMOVED, ELIMINATED!

Their alumni, fans have private/secret regularly arranged "meetings". And irregardless of your living, working, economic status......when asked, it is encumbent upon them, to "write a check $"! And without flinching - they do!

Again, Alabama Football is really more than a mere Religion to many of their fans. It is all they have. The other reason that was given to me for this deep, ingrained "need" to win is that Alabama lost more men in the civil war than any other State in the south. It was significant and had a hugely devastating effect. And this deep "loss" of men, and the very vital need for support, security, work they provided, "traumatized" the population & state. It so shocked, affected Alabama society (especially the women) that it caused a deep psychosomatic feeling of defeat, abandonment & loss that has been passed down, inherited. It may not be as pervasive, but is still present today - occurring or presenting as an instinctive "fear" of loss & the "need" (at all costs) to win!

I am surrounded by Bama fans. And the comments above are my direct observations, ample experiences I have regularly had & witnessed while with them. They are very serious, devout Bama fans & alumni, but there is something, somehow different & missing while watching Alabama football games with them compared to LSU fans. THEY DO NOT HAVE AS MUCH FUN! AND THEY ARE OFTEN MISERABLE EVEN IN VICTORY! I consider them "close" friends and I like them. But they are simply not capable of the close, tight, open, deep/dear level of relationships I have developed with people/friends from La. They just do not have the culture, broad/wide depth, passion or intensity for life. There is NO comparison of the feeling, mood or "environment" that surrounds their game day viewing experience. Game over - the gathering departs. Even after winning a National Championship....they may celebrate for 15 minutes, but still criticize, site negatives. After 15 or 20 mins - it's back to serious, determined attention to next season! I'm serious.
While most are going to really like what Kiffin said & how he handled the press conference, far fewer are going to realize just how amazingly important what Coach Kiffin specifically said & genuinely felt about being here at LSU is going to actually MEAN, CAUSE & RESULT in as far as LSU being expeditiously vaulted to dominating, winning National Championships! That was the whole point, meaning & purpose behind Kiffin repeatedly mentioning, focusing on the specific word/term of “ALIGNMENT”!! That LSU was “Different” & UNIQUELY HAD All the Pieces, Leadership, Facilities, # 1 Stadium, Fans & Culture to Win Titles!!

The Press Conference Could Not Have Gone or Been Better! It was GOLD!! Kiffin reiterated over & over again THAT IT ALL SIMPLY CAME TOGETHER & CULMINATED @ THE PRECISE, PERFECT TIME, PLACE, MOMENT!! Elite Players, Parents, Top Caliper Asst Coaches, etc will See/Understand that LSU IS THE ULTIMATE PLACE TO BE, PLAY, COMPETE…..ESPECIALLY NOW!
It’s all well established and documented. 10 to 15 years ago, I read where the actual counting of votes was done outside the United States. And that the company that owns and makes the machines is out of Venezuela. I found this hard to believe when I read it over a decade ago, but in the last 5 to 6 years, it was discussed and verified numerous times.

Just research the Italian military cyber intelligence group that “saw” the 2020 steal via satellite as they observed “global inter web data/activity”. It’s too deep/intricate to explain here. It was so obvious, and they had the actual data and proof, that they attempted to “formally report it” to the appropriate high level US agencies.

Research it! It is well known, documented. If I remember correctly, one or two Italian Military Cyber investigators that had the absolute “proof” of the steal which involved the “counting of machine votes” which was done outside the U.S. were killed!

Well known & easily found Diplomatic report/case that “officially” occurred via high level Italian Govt/Military channels/sources that was entirely verified…..but was squashed, hidden - but nonetheless was verified, proved with hard, real time digital data/evidence! It will blow your mind and is all irrefutable & unarguable proof that 2020 election was stolen!!

re: We Benched a QB Who Was 18-21…

OP sez:

"I want to compliment Coach Wilson. That took balls but he played to win the game!"

I was liking, agreeing with the post......until that statement above!

Come now dog.....It took NO balls - just mere S A N I T Y!

And, Wilson waited TOO LONG to put MVB in!!

"Played to Win the Game" would have required benching Nuss @ End of First Qrt, maybe even earlier. Or how about STARTING MVB.

Many people have commented, feel that LSU would have very likely WON the game if MVB would have Started.

The bottom line is that Kelly got FIRED for exclusively playing Nuss. MVB should have been getting playtime, several series EVERY GAME. But where the Season got Destroyed was Not putting MVB in mid-way in 2nd Qrt vs Ole Miss.

You HAVE TO - MUST - be accutely aware of the intricate Ebbs & Flows of M O M E N T U M. And then MANAGE/CONTROL those Key Moments to cause a SHIFT or Spark (something) to Gain or Maintain Momentum, or Break your opponents!!

The critical Moment (root word for Momentum) to either have a successful or failed SEASON for LSU was the 2nd Qrt vs Ole Miss. Kelly has NO knowledge, awareness of using/controlliing Momentum. No guaranty that MVB would have made the difference, but it was CERTAIN FAILURE by Exclusively Playing Garrett Nussmeier. I and many others knew that, and the Historical Results prove, back it!!
From OP:

"Never heard one player have such a devastating impact. Feel sorry for him but someone should have taken the hard decision to take him out early in the season, and we would have saved a whole bunch of money"

Nothing harsh was written, just simple reality. In fact, OP expresses sympathy for Nuss and puts the blame where it belongs = Coaches for not making the Hard but Right decision of replacing him.

The other equally D i s a s t e r o u s decision was appointing Nussmeier as the "Team Leader"!?
** (after just writing that factual statement about Nuss being "the" Leader, my fingers suddenly froze and prevented me from typing the next sentence. I noticed that my brain was also alerting me to halt/wait....telling me to "re-read/edit"....that "something was very wrong" in what I wrote!? I was confused and found myself re-reading that sentence about Nussmeier (#18) being the Team Leader this entire season. You may also find your brain, right now, struggling with what I'm saying/describing. But less than 24 hours ago, during last night's National TV broadcast vs Bama, it was mentioned/confirmed that Garrett was indeed the Team's Leader! While re-reading my above sentence/statement.....I suddenly realized why I was unable to compute or reckon it with reality. And the reason was that "IT WAS UTTERLY INSANE"!!

Definition of Insanity is: "Doing the same thing over & over and expecting different results".

Before I end, allow me to geaux you one step further, deeper into the Pitts of Insanity. Brian Kelly appointing Nussmeier as the Team's Leader before the season began was beyond derelict. BUT TO PRETEND & ALLOW HIM TO REMAIN THE TEAM'S LEADER THIS ENTIRE SEASON......WAS SELF IMMOLATING SUICIDE FOR KELLY, NUSSMEIER, THE ENTIRE TEAM & PROGRAM!!

** psychology, self & situational awareness/analysis (reading the tea leaves) whether on an organizational, team, local/national level....is very tricky & very easily (insanely) overlooked/avoided. Reality (sanity) is often "DENIED"! **. An large portion of a Team's FanBase can become deluded. When I began this post....I noticed that the OP's comments had cumulated a "score" of: 21 Likes vs 58 Dislikes!?! Sorry, but this is clinical "Co-Dependency".

Most people are ignorant as to what the Term/Condition/Behavior of "Co-Dependency" actually is. And consequently, most are entirely unaware of the very real, quite serious & wide ranging negative ramifications it causes/creates in peoples lives, relationships, etc. So, before simply "flaming out", or thinking that I am pontificating or deriding anyone (including Nussmeier); my hope is that perhaps some, or even just 1 I pray, may investigate what Co-Dependency actually is. While difficult to understand/see initially, you will very quickly see, recognize ample proof of who/how/what it operates to control, manipulate and even destroy many lives! Even an elementary understanding, awareness of Co-Dependency will afford one tremendous benefits in how/what is "really going on"!!

And......even cause a Team to Fail, Lose Football Games, Get Fired, Destroy Futures!

This is not confusing or debatable. The Fact is they have BEEN leaving New York & California in Droves for Years! And will not only continue, especially in New York City, but Increase now!

And it's also no confusing or debatable as to WHY this Has been Occurring and will now Increase!

OP is Exactly Correct!

Nussmeier has No business being a Div 1 QB, and certainly not Starting for LSU - game after game & left in, series after series, for entire games.

I'm no Football Wizard, and we will see, but I don't think Nussmeier will take even 1 snap in the NFL! He simply does not have the skillsets a QB needs.

In fact - Nussmeier has the OPPOSITE traits, characteristics, movements, eyesight, touch/feel a QB needs!

Not being mean......it's just the Reality!

I've got nothing personal against Garrett Nusmeier. Nor am "upset" with "Him" over yet another loss. Any "fault", in my opinion, lies not with Nuss but elsewhere (see below).

But the simple truth, clear R E A L I T Y.......as evidenced by hundred's of plays/snaps, repeated game starts, very "visible" + actual on-field performance.......that Nussmeier is just NOT an effective QB. He Does Not have the fundamental, ingrained, unique, combined skill sets required to play QB. PERIOD! He is not above or below average; not bad or good; not hurt or healthy. He just does Not have it! And that should be No Big Deal! G.N. should not have been "put" in that position, or not KEPT in that position after it became Super Evident he was Failing. Himself & HIS TEAM, University, Fans (I did not say Coaches, for they Failed both G.N. & themselves)!

It's reasonable, perhaps, that he be given the chance. But early on, it became abundantly clear that Nussmeier was, should NOT be playing QB @ the Division 1 Level. And certainly Starting for LSU!!

And again - So What!?! That simply Fact should not be a Big Deal! However, you can be absolutely assured (or Highly Likely if you prefer) that with his Father being a Pro QB Coach, while Garrett was very young, "It Was Decided & Expected".....he was Told, Taught, Molded, Encouraged - over & over - whether consciously/overtly or unconsciously/covertly......that He WAS a QB & WOULD (better) Be! Remember, we're talking about a Kid's mind/brain hearing, getting that message - over & over!

I teach/coach Tennis. And we see Parents make this decision, push push their Kid that they WILL, not only play, enjoy and be "pretty damned good", but that they WILL WIN TOURNAMENTS! There is no doubt that if an 8, 9,12 year old (or older) - IF they get the core, essential fundamentals of the strokes/game/footwork/etc. through repeated Lessons over years.....with dedication, thousands of hours of practice & if THEY want to play (love) Tennis.....they can develop a very respectable game! However, some kids just Do Not Have the same, ingrained skill sets, eyes/vision, timing/footwork, quick reactions or even neural/brain/bodies to Win Junior Tournaments or be Champions! They will still be good, even "great" tennis players.....which for many parents & kids is fabulous! They do "well" in tournaments, win matches, perhaps play #1 Singles for High School Team, etc. But they WILL NOT PLAY DIVISION 1 TENNIS!

It IS quite evident to hundred's of thousands, maybe a million knowledgable college football fans that Nussmeier does not move well, he is out of sync, his timing is off, he does not "see or feel" the field, plays, offense/defense, etc. HE IS NOT COMFORTABLE, LOOKS PRESSURED, THROWS EITHER TO HARD OR TOO SOFT, TOO LONG OR TOO SHORT.....He simply has NO TOUCH. And that is NOT good for a QB.....for it causes the entire offense to be Out of Sync. Football, Tennis & many other sports is a game of 1/4 Inch, 1/8th of a Second!!

I am No Football Wizard. But you don't have to be to see that it was a Huge Mistake to Start, Leave In, Expect Nussmeier to succeed, win or even perform/function as a QB.

Refs have cheated the entire game
Three reviews which none of them would’ve been made on Alabama - to kill the momentum

Like I posted earlier, they would wait too late to put MVB in

LSU coaches have betrayed us AND THE TEST OF THE TEAM by not giving MVB a chance and strictly allow a Nussmeier to lose/blow game after game & the entire season!
I’m sorry, I don’t have anything against Nuss personally, But I posted earlier about him just not having a “Feel” for the Play. He simply is DISCONNECTED & his TIMING is either too late or too early, throws to hard/fast or too soft. HOWEVER - this also applies to Kelly & current Coach - they just can NOT SEE/FEEL that they MUST Replace Nuss with MVB. Oh, they likely will now, but it’s too late & has been all season!!

NUSS IS SIMPLY A JINX

NOTHING CAN OR WILL WORK WITH HIM LEADING THE OFFENSE!! EVERYTHING HE DOES (moves & sees) IS OUT OF SYNC. HE IS ALSO GOING TO GET HIS WIDE RECEIVERS KILLED BY NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE/FEEL THE WHOLE FIELD & NOW WITH NO TIME HE WUSSY’s OUT BY DUMPING A SHORT DANGEROUS PASS THAT HAS NO OPPTY FOR YARDS!!
Once again, they waited too long.
Absolutely insane that they don’t give MVB a series or two. Oh, they eventually will, when game is in jeopardy, desperate circumstances. That’s not how you flip the momentum by putting the kid in under dire circumstances. Waiting too long kills the opportunity in what could have been “simply part of the game plan” by using 2 QB’s now backfires & sends/gives Bama a huge psychological momentum bump by signaling a Hail Mary desperation attempt to try anything. NUSS IS SIMPLY HORRIBLE - NO FEEL NO SYNC
