Other far cooler, more LSU appropriate/unique and safer (physical & legal) options need to be explored. I blame the legal liability, primarily, due to attorneys. They have sued/killed many companies, things, options out of existence.

Allow the celebrating player to toss really nice, one of a kind "LSU branded/specific Mardi Gras Beads" to the fans in the stadium! That alone would keep those fans who sit behind them, and are always the first to leave, in their seats......for the right type of "limited edition" LSU "throw" could/would be something quite valuable!

The Players would LOVE it and the LSU Fans would Geaux Nuts! And the "tossing of the beads" would be broadcast & talked about nationwide to promote the Tiger Stadium Game Day/Night Experience & Fan Enthusiasm! And it would provide Prime Time + Priceless "Free" Nationwide Advertising to promote Louisiana's awesome Culture, Mardi Gras, Music, Food & Tourism in general!

It's a Great Idea!

I agree, and thought/said the same thing while watching the "celebration" several games ago! I "get" the fun, cool, lose, novelty idea involved. But the whole basketball goal dunking thing is potentially fraught with injury & risk! All you have to do is watch to see the "awkwardness" that has been obvious, evident in several players while attempting to perform the jump/dunk move.

And the whole point is that the goal dunking is a unnecessary risk, and not part of the normal/natural risk of injury inherent while playing the game of football! And you are an idiot if you don't think, see the very definite risk involved. And it's not to LSU football players alone.

As bad as it would be if a player should get some type of hand, wrist or foot twist/sprain injury while landing......the media/public relations nightmare & fallout of the injury video, that would be played in a loop, 24/7, over and over, would be very costly.

And even worse still, and far worse it would be, is if "someone else" (spectator, journalist, referee/official, sideline celebrity, opposing team coach/assistant/ball boy, etc. etc.).....were to be hurt while the whole goal dunking activity occurs, which it does/will numerous X's each & every game.

If you've observed, the sideline is literally crowded with all types/sorts of people. Many of them are not watching or aware of the sudden, unscripted, spontaneous celebration. They may be distracted by the whole environment, atmosphere and/or just "moving through" - busy performing some other role/function (photography/video) and simply not aware of the celebration.

And keep in mind that this person/persons don't have to even "be" or actually "get" hurt. Just a mere trip, slip, fall - or nothing - is all it takes! All they have to say is....."Oh, I don't feel right; have a headache, backache, am dizzy; - or whatever!. It would be an Attorney's DREAM CASE & an LSU Legal Nightmare!

Think I'm being outlandish or dramatic? No - you are! Just watch the Goal Post, Metal Ring, Backboard while the players are dunking. The whole basketball goal contraption moves, springs, bounces and has looked/appeared as if it were going to utterly Collapse!

Lane needs to come up with something new, different. The basket ball dunking thing has become tired, stale & lame. It started and was brought over from Ole Miss. LSU & La. can come up with something more novel, unique & fitting.

The reality is that it's not just against OU that ain't a big deal (at all);
but Texas vs Anybody is generally not on anybody's highlight list! It's just not.

In fact, any of the other SEC school's interest in Texas' games is to simply, merely watching/waiting for them to be exposed! Which always happens. For everyone knows that Texas should not be ranked anywhere near where they were put (and not earned)!

There is just no excitement For or In Texas Football! The feeling amongst ALL SEC Schools, Fanbases is that Texas is not part of the SEC. Even if Texas should do good, we don't care and don't want any credit for it.

Hard to put your finger on, but Texas games, fans, atmosphere & their football program just don't have it! The rest of the country just has no excitement or interest in it. It's simply very vanilla.

Nothing new. Clark has always looked & played good! His throwing rhythm/form is exceptional. Landen just naturally moves, sets up & reads the field with poised confidence. We are very lucky to have him!

What was clearly conveyed is that I think certain backups might "rise to the occasion/opportunity" to perhaps play above their potential. They might be inspired to "dig deep" for the team and even the injured player they're replacing to produce exceptional performances.

I trust and believe that Kiffin knows how to evaluate players. But if "superior talented player" always outperformed an athlete with lesser talent/ability..... then the outcome of competition would be certain - and their would never be upsets! But we see them all the time, in individual one on one competition (tennis) or team sports where far higher skill, ability & ranked opponents are beaten by an inspired player or team!

Prime example is the US Hockey Team (college amateurs) beating the Vastly Superior Russian (uber professionals) Hockey Team to Win the Gold Medal in the 1980 Olympics held in Lake Placid.

My point, which was clearly made, is that our team has suffered some rather significant injuries, and that these backups are needed and will be playing due to injured players. And that Kiffin is an outstanding coach and that I've never been more confidant in a coach's ability to motivate and extract exceptional performances from these backups.

And that yes, it is possible that they might perform even better than the players they replaced. Case in point is our receiver - Harris, who stepped up to replace injured Green, who I, and many others, would say outperformed even Green last weekend against Texas A&M.

Pretty Good Documentary! I love these "crime" documentaries, and have seen better ones; but since I like them so much - I enjoyed this one and watched all 3 back to back.

Something that has always bothered me, or that I don't completely understand the rational behind it, is that you have to have ALL 12 jurors vote Not Guilty.

You often hear it said that "It's better to let 1,000 "guilty" defendants go free than to convict 1 innocent person"! In our justice system you are also "presumed innocent", which I agree with and understand.

In the second trial, which she should have won, the vote was 7 guilty - 5 innocent! 5 people who deliberated for 5 days clearly had "reasonable doubt"!! Since our justice system clearly protects the accused by making the state prove their case, rather than the accused prove they are innocent.....why do you have to have ALL 12 vote "not guilty" in order to be "win" (released, free)?! Again, is not 5 jurors being unable to convict not "reasonable doubt"!

I can more easily understand the rational of all 12 jurors having to vote guilty to convict. But something has always bothered me about it having to be unanimous to be found "fully" innocent.

Regarding the documentary, and her guilt or innocence, the supreme court should have gone further to "right the wrong" that was done in the first trial. All I can say is that I would'nt want to live in Topeka. There must be something very "odd/weird" (judgemental) about the average person who resides there that make up "a jury of your peers"! These same people are the ones who elect their District Attorney (the crooked first D.A. & Cop in the first trial). And the 2nd D.A. who I still have a hard time understanding how they wanted to try her again after the Supreme Court found NO definitive evidence linking her to the crimes! And the Topeka Kansas "mindset" (people), who includes the D.A., Court & Justice System, Detectives, etc. (they are all "people" who live there - think, believe the same general) who got destroyed in the 2nd Trial......yet wanted to re-try her for the 3rd time!

Don't know if she did it or not. Nothing was proved. However, there WAS PROOF that the prosecution, cops & witness "Did It" (abuse of power, corruption & outright lies/perjury in 1st & 2nd trials)! After the supreme court eviscerated the first DA and clearly found that her right to a fair trial was "criminally" violated........where was the outcry from the community & "good" people of Topeka!?

Tiger Droppings not big on Reality.

Knowing really nothing about Leavitt until earlier this month, they were told/sold on him being Great. The 5 Million $ Price Tag also impressed, convinced them he must be good. And deep deep down, from the bottom of their heart/soul, they Wanted him to be. They Needed him to be! That heartfelt dream, intense wish embedded inside a "FANatical" Fan, along with strong desire, intense emotions & huge pride, will often override actual facts, stats, data. Hope does not equal Reality.

Another true fact (reality) is that these "loyal to the death" Leavitt fans still don't really know Sam Leavitt! And are petrified at making any changes, exploring other options, despite Clark playing with very clear, obvious poise/confidence/comfort.

From the little we have seen, despite far less reps and playing with our 2nd/3rd string, he has actually performed better than Sam. (ranter's brains just sploded, gaskets blown out; so I'll back up my statement with definitive proof, but it won't matter).

Kiffin, and every other observer, have been very clear about Sam's "problems". It is a known fact, or "reality". But not so with Clark, where yesterday Kiffin was very clear, positive about Landen playing "Good"; and was excited to see what Landen's upside might be during key/prime game time. Kiffin repeatedly, directly said 2x that Clark "Played Good, Well"! Kiffin further extolled his praise upon Clark by explaining that "Yes, Landen played good, and that the 0 for 5 pass completions stat was very misleading, as he actually tossed 2 touchdown passes that should have been caught"!

I like Sam Leavitt, and also like Landen Clark. We all hope Sam improves, but the "reality" is, he could just as easily remain erratic, inconsistent and somewhat scary, which he has been. I, like Lane Kiffin, am not afraid of "thinking out of the box, being creative, innovative & exploring all options"!

And besides, any player on the sidelines, during a game that is thinking/listening to a Sound System, DJ & what Song is being played is NOT a serious player, not a competitor. Their Focus during a Game/Practice Should Be & Is on their Job/Role/Position on the Team, Not Partying to Loud Music!!

ANYTHING THAT DETRACTS, DISTRACTS FROM HOW/WHAT LSU FANS & TIGER STADIUM - DEATH VALLEY IS KNOWN FOR.......
which is the Undebatable #1 Loudest, Most Passionate, Intimidating Fans + Environment in ALL of Collegiate Sports.......

Should be Eliminated, Stopped! Let Tiger Stadium & LSU Fans provide what it is known for - "The Cathedral of College Sports"!
