I'm late, but where did it say they were shutting down the Jim Beam? They could be shutting down Bookers or Little Book, Basil Hayden, Knob Creek, etc.

The only relevant question is are Merc and RBR objectively breaking a rule. That's all that matters. If they are, they need to be punished.

If they aren't, then nothing else matters. It's the other teams' fault for not innovating. If their engines suck they will "earn" an additional upgrade or two next year.

Sucks for them, but it is what it is. It's the most F1 thing ever for them to legitimately discuss holding back Merc or RBR, or giving benefits to other manufacturers, because Merc and RBR did smarter work within the rules.

I don't like how they call it a loophole. They aren't doing something nefarious to skirt the rules, they just found a design consideration that no one else outside of Redbull found.

Bourbon is an incredibly difficult industry to forecast. This shutdown will affect supply anywhere from 4-18 years from now depending on which distillery is shutdown and what rickhouses are left barren.

I couldn't imagine doing supply planning for a mass produced retail product that takes a minimum of 4 years to produce.

All I know is if in 7 years the market is turned upside down again due to supply issues and I'm paying $200 for a bottle of Bookers out of the back of a guy's trunk under an overpass at 2 in the morning I'm gonna fricking kill a hobo in frustration.
