My sister lives in New Orleans and was telling me how her Instagram page has been taken over by numerous local wannabe influencers who post videos of themselves multiple times a day.

I asked if it was just a couple of local realtors and she said no it's gotten way worse. Apparently people are now creating content where it looks like they are being interviewed but it's all fake. There's no one actually doing the interview.

This seems ridiculous to me. Are there any BR wannabe influencers?

I guess it sounded better than “non productive members of society that don’t wanna work so they make useless videos in hopes that they become rich and famous”

If you are a person who is being “influenced” then you are a big part of this problem.

Local Social Media Wannabe Influencers

I've started noticing recently people that live in my area that just go around to local restaurants, film themselves eating, talk about it, then post it. These aren't food critics or even anyone in the food industry, it's just normal arse regular people like you or me. Somehow a few of these people have gotten thousands upon thousands of followers of people just watching and listening to them eat.

I don't get it.

There is a Nola at Arnold’s rep that has been doing dive bar reviews. Actually pretty interesting.

The amount of local people popping up on social media filming themselves eating is out of control. No one gives a frick what Joe from Kenner or Kaleigh from fricking Boston thinks about Mother's poboy.

You know she voluntarily follows these people right?

I follow some Brittany chick from Breaux Bridge. As annoying as a wet fart, but cute with great tits.

The saddest archetype is a girl in her 30s or 40s with 3,000 followers doing "get ready with me" type videos

There is a phantom audience disease permeating society at increasing levels

When it comes to Boots on The Bayou, I saw more influencer videos than actual music.

Seems like influencers outnumbered actual attendees to that thing this year.

Why do most these people film themselves eating in their cars?

I enjoy watching some of the food reviewers. Now the people that try to sell you things on their pages are complete scum
