a loss doesn't really hurt us at all, IMO. This is a game that I don't think anyone has expected us to win all season so a loss is not really anything that would knock us off course.

The UK/UT wins were so big, I honestly think that if we just hold serve against SC and MSU like we're supposed to we're in.
Idk but whenever I see topics liek this it makes me think of Ben Simmons pussing out against the hawks during that '21 playoff run. Simmons has a clear layup/dunk right under the basket, but sees the ferocious and intimidating trae young barreling down so he passes it off lol.

thank you, I guess I will throw some in there. They are building a gigantic AI factory in Bham which is what piqued my interest lately.

Is this a long term hold for you, like years/decades, or do you have a particular target set where you will pull out?
I know this thread is 13 months old and this question has likely been asked ooooohhhhh a couple hundred times already, so please forgive me. Have I missed the boat on buying in here or is anytime a good time for a long term hold?

I keep seeing this company's name in the news repeatedly to where I feel like I'm doing myself a disservice for NOT buying some at this point. The returns from pretty much any benchmark are incredible which also makes me wonder how much longer it will continue going up?

Thats his point. He is saying when he was involved in coaching with Tennessee he kicked UGAs arse every year,

I know it's just.....pretty lame? I mean at least cristobal's jabs were witty and actually had some bite and smarts behind them. Fulmer's basically amounted to "hey guys we used to be good 35 years ago, remember??"

quote:

On3's Pete Nakos reported that LSU has already topped $40 million in NIL money to build their roster for 2026

I distinctly remember that LESS THAN FIVE years ago the big talking point was that it would cost $15M to construct a championship caliber roster.

How in the absolute frick did that nearly triple in such a short time? This shite is beyond stupid.

Phil Fulmer got in a few jokes in Gainesville too....goes at Kirby

saying "I went 11-5 against UGA" is going at kirby? It's kinda sad in a rambling grandpa "back in my day" kind of way, considering as a coach Kirby is 9-1 against tennessee.

I think the right answer for us would have been Lou Holtz

We were hiring at the time Holtz was still employed at ND at coming off a top 15 season and Orange bowl appearance. Considering where we were after the Goff era there is zero chance we could've gotten holtz.

Granted SC was in much worse shape in 1999 than we were after goff, but holtz was retired so the dynamics were much different.

But I will definitely ask them when I see them later this week and plan on holding you to it!

In what capacity do you see them? I have a lifelong friend that works for 680 so I would assume he knows you if that's the outlet. What's a question I could ask him about you to see if he knows you

Anybody heard of why?

uhh..common sense?

The SEC already has the hardest gauntlet as is, and that was without even playing 9 conference games. Throw in another 3-4 games against high level competition in teh playoffs. Why on earth would anyone make things harder for themselves?

Texas is very likely in the playoffs last year if they beat a tomato can in the opener instead of losing to OSU.
I think they said he's weak to week, which considering he was hobbling in a boot doesn't sound like two terrible of an outcome. As long as we have him back before conference play I'm Happy
Broyles award finalist and back to back SEC Champion OC mike bobo?

Seems like we could be a hell of a lot more wasteful than that.

ow does this keep happening?

you mean..speeding? Speeding happens on every college campus on earth.
It seems that only in athens though do you get actually arrested for it.

Do you think a defensive starter at alabama going too fast would get thrown in jail? Something tells me it's unlikely.

eta: It is obviosusly annoying as shite that is keeps happening though. I'm not excusing the dumbass behavior from these idiots. Just saying this is by no means an Athens/UGA only problem.

UGA needs to win 3 of their last 5 to get in. We won’t beat Bama or Vandy.

If we lose to Texas we’d have to win at least 2 in Nashville to be considered IMO.

21 wins is our magic number, imo. I think 3 more from wherever they come from will do the trick. Just speculation not based on anything real

re: Best SEC Football Coach by Decade

I had a bit of a brain fart earlier, so do accept my apolgoies. Seriously.

It didn't really register in my brain that "decade of the 2010s" for these coaches essentially is only comprised of a few years each so we're only talking about a very narrow sample size. Obviously 2019 is the best of the bunch, however Kirby wins every other year either very slightly or very bigly.

So I guess it all boils down to whether you give the nod to overall consistency and very high level winning over a sustained period of time, or the chizik model of spectacularly bright burning storybook highs accompanied by mediocrity. I think having a discussion start, end, and solely be focused on national titles is stupid becuase there are so many more ways to determine how good of a season/decade you had. If that's your mindset you probably also think Doug Johnson is a better QB than DAn Marino I assume, which is laughable.

2017: Ed had 4 losses half of which were to unranked teams. Kirby won the SEC and went to OT in the national title
2018: Kirby won the division and played for the SEC. Both teams had same number of losses, played in a major bowl game, and finished in the top 7. Kirby had one more win
2019: Ed in a runaway, although Kirby won his division (as did Ed obviously) and played in a major bowl game, so it's not like kirby was a dud this year. LSU's was jsut much better

Ed had 40 wins (I'll give him credit for the interim wins) while Kirby had 44. Kirby won his division 3 times compared to Ed's once. Kirby had three top-7 finishes, Ed had two.

I don't think listing Ed is as ridiculous as originally thought, but I also don't think it's a slam dunk just on teh back of 1 season etiher. Especiaillly when we're talking about a 10 year period here. Hell is there nobody else between 2010-2019 that would be in contention?
