Definitely true. About 50% Orleans at Lakeshore and 40% at Pontiff if not more.
A car is not freedom anymore. Their parents are tracking them on their phones at all times.
Jeff parish residents pay a tax to JPRD and then JP fills up the rec leagues with Orleans kids who pay a waiver fee equivalent to about a 250k assessment. That is how much the lots cost near Pontiff and Lakeshore playgrounds.

I thought it was a nice little hotel. Restaurant was 4/5 but easy. Two near bars across the street. The balcony is shared with three rooms.

I learned about this recently as well. Toup’s Meatery in New Orleans was providing meals to low income people. They received a lot of praise from the community. Turns out it was a Federal Grant that was funding it. They never mentioned that on their social media posts. They were probably turning a profit on the whole endeavor.

He booked what people would pay to see. His job was to make the venue money, not get the best bands available.
It was more of a passion project for Tim Hood. I think they moved away from the music venue after he passed away.

Also, it is hard to make money in that space. LSU students are not going out like they used to. Even if you can get them out during the week, they don’t drink enough to cover the costs anymore.
Avery Island has a low population and a strong economic output so I am not sure how population is a relevant critique.

But we also have pretty low property tax rates.

Who has low property tax rates? Not in the parishes with the big cities.
Interest rate caps
Minorities can’t get loans
Government guarantees payments
People take out loans they can’t afford
Student loan disaster repeat
Routing the MS river through a levee system that prevents are wetlands from being replenished is not Climate change.
No freebies. Sometimes the scouts get on the court before the game. I don’t know if the school gets a cut of the sales. I would hope so if they are ripping off everyone at $30 a ticket for this trash team.
Most people give a quick hey or say I see ya. Of course this weekend will probably be different. For the most part, we just let people be.
lol they haven’t worked their whole federal career.
