Toyota of Mt Pleasant Texas is fair. Bought my 24 Camry there. They don’t pack extra crap on cars like many dealers do. Will try to sell you extended warranty of course but not hard core. Smaller dealership but seems legit

Ive bought 3 used from Team in BTR with zero problem. I think some of their guys are 20+ year and never left, which kinda gives me peace of mind thinking they treat their employees right and employees are decent enough to survive that industry. What brings me back is that they covered a $6500 axle/diff issue from a vehicle outside of their standard 30 day or whatever warranty. The truck had well over 100k miles and like 60 days from purchase the axle and diff took a crap. They didnt promise they could cover it, but said they would try and they came through in the end. I paid $0 for repair.

I have had no bad experiences. Define sleazy tactics.
Had the vehicle I was looking for online for a certain price, well below sticker. I went to the dealer and asked about said vehicle not mentioning the online advertised price. Same sales person as my previous purchase. Told them I was buying within a few days and I don’t like all the back and forth, so what could they sell the vehicle for? They came back with the “since you’re a repeat buyer, my sales manager is willing to cut a good deal for you” bs and gave me a price 5k over sticker. I mentioned the online price and they tried crawfishing, but I told them thanks, but no thanks and bought one later that day a few miles away.

When you say legit dealer are you asking for an honest dealer that won't screw you. If so, the answer is they don't exist within any state or any manufacturer. The whole dealer experience is to screw the customer by selling cars at different prices to different customers based on individual negotiating skills. However this went away during COVID and customers were paying MSRP or even more than MSRP. In addition to selling warranties, addons and other things to inflate an already inflated price.

Perhaps you should define this. Because that’s always subjective.

Avoid all TEAM dealerships. Tried to buy a Tacoma 5 years ago and they lowballed my trade by 6K. Went down to Allstar Toyota and got 6K more for my trade. Team Toyota were like KBB, Carmax and give me the vin are all wrong. Drove back to TEAM and slowrolled around the dealership in my new ALLSTAR Toyota. Sleazy crooks through and through.

Yeah. At the end of the day the dealerships have to make a profit. But the OT feels like they have to “win”.
In my experience there is little room for negotiations with new Toyotas. So I just paid what they were willing to offer. It was near sticker.

Call Toyota of Brookhaven in Mississippi. Had very good experience with them. Small town dealer. No sales gimmicks or tricks. Easy to deal with.

Just purchased a Grand Highlander Saturday from Van Trow (NE LA). Easy to work with and price was fair.
